Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge 544

I am entering this card into the Atlantic Heart Sketch challenge.

I used the blueberry set from Kitchen Sink Stamps for the stamping on the stripes. The leaves on the focus piece were done with an old retired set from Stampin' Up. I punched the larger berries from a dark blue design paper and highlighted with a white pencil.

As You Like It challenge - favorite fall colors and why

Making use of my favorite fall colors - orange, golds, and peach for my challenge card for As You Like it. Orange has always been one of my favorite colors because it is so vivid and is made with red and yellow two of the other warm colors on the color wheel. It is the color that brings autumn to its fullness. This digital image is from Power Poppy as is the sentiment. I used a nice plaid to contrast with my fall colors and used some gold washi tapes for accents on my card.  You can find the details of this challenge here:

Addicted to CAS _Mushrooms

I made this card for the Addicted to CAS challenge to use a mushroom. I loved this cute image from Artistic Impressions so stamped it onto some vanilla cardstock,  and colored it with my copic markers.

House Mouse challenge #399

I finally got around to organizing a file box for completed birthday cards. I will continue to put addressed envelopes behind each month with the card that needs to be sent with the date penciled in on the corner of when it should be put in the mailbox. I have never been this organized so I hope this will help me get more of my cards mailed out in time. LOL
I made this card for the current House Mouse challenge to add to my birthday box. I used design paper to cut these banners. Then I stamped this image and colored it with copic markers. These little fellows always seem to know how to celebrate any occasion.
Check out the details for the challenge here:

Krafty Chicks - Christmas cards

I have been busy finding Christmas challenges to give me some inspiration for getting some of mine done early! I did this one for the Krafty Chicks Christmas challenge for September. I'm glad they have a Christmas challenge every month. I used mainly dies for this card and scraps left over from another Christmas card made earlier today. I added some gold gems to the wreath in addition to the red berries and red bow that were dies that came with the wreath die.

You can find the details for the Krafty Chicks challenges here:

Can you handle the pressure? Trees

I needed to make some masculine Christmas cards for a friend. I used this 3_D embossing folder from Sizzix and inked over it with distressed oxide antique linen ink. I added some white stickles to some of the bumps to look like snow, The silhouette was a Momenta card front die that I cut apart and pieced to fit my space better. There are some trees in the scene so hope this fits the theme for the Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge to use embossing and trees. You can find the details for the challenge here:

Fall Fun

How fun it is to do some fall cards now that fall is here (on the calendar, but certainly not here in the weather.) This card was made with a wonderful Power Poppy digital image and colored with Copic markers. I did a little doodling around the edges so it would qualify for Saturday's Sweet Stampin' Challenge. Details for that challenge can be found here:

Double Trouble challenge to use 3 of the fall colors: red, orange, yellow, green, purple, and I used black and gray as neutrals. Details here:

and also the Inspiration Station Challenge to use pumpkins or gourds. Here's their inspiration piece:

and one last challenge this card is for is the Paper Players challenge to include a four legged animal on the card. So mine is the cat. Check the details for that challenge here:

September and Sunflowers

I love sunflowers and when I saw that was the theme of two challenges this week, I decided to make this card using this sunflower stamp and sentiment from Unity Stamps. I used versafine clair black ink for stamping the image and sentiment. I colored the image with Copic markers. I used some design papers from my stash and a Martha Stewart corner paper punch to make the paper loops for embellishment.
These are the challenges that I am entering with this card:

Cupcake Challenge 577 - Bears

When I went into Hobby Lobby today to find some birthday gifts, I found this bear stamp marked down, and I remembered bears were the theme for the cupcake challenge today. So you know what that means, I had to get that stamp. I put this together with a tree stamp from SU and a sentiment from Impression Obsessions. The design paper was an old stashed piece from Basic Grey. I am always in need of masculine card ideas, so I was happy I came up with this one!

Another CTD card for 758

I love this digital from Power Poppy that I water colored using my new LiddyGang Magicals. The colors are so vivid and are so perfect for this week's Color Throwdown colors. You can find the details here:

The background was a mixed media project that made use of distress oxide inks, versamark ink,  LindyGang's Magicals, and versafine clair black. I used an Impression Obsessions background stamp under and over the colors and also a SU leaf stamp. The flower image was then fussy cut and put over the background. The sentiment is from Gina K designs!

Try Stampin' on Tuesday

I stenciled  with distress oxide ink for the background for this card, added washi tape for the strips. The poinsettia is a large sticker. The sentiment is cut from a piece of design paper. I added gold faceted gems to the center of the poinsettia. I mounted it on red card base.

You can find the details of the challenge here:

My Time to craft Christmas 68

It's fun to get started on Christmas cards early, so I made this card for the Time to Craft Christmas card challenge that can be found here:

I laid a stencil onto my blank paper, stamped the pine needles over it then blended the lighter green over the stencil when I had finished the stamping. I added two die cut ornaments and poinsettia stickers onto the ornament. The strip that says Merry Christmas is a piece of design paper. I mounted this onto a piece of red for the card base.

Thanks MTTCC! It is an honor!

Color Throw Down 758

I made this card for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. The details are above this text. I used some Lindy's gang magical powders to color the background on my water color paper. I stamped the black patterned background with a stamp from Momenta. The flower and sentiment are from Pink Fresh. I colored the image with Copic Markers. The Lindy's gang magical powders made such vivid and vibrant colors. They were fun to work with and look forward to using this product that was new to my collection of mixed media items.

Christmas Throwdown - embossing folder

This week I have done many Christmas challenges, which makes me thrilled to have gotten some of these done ahead of schedule. This challenge for the 52 Christmas Throwdown challenge was to make use of embossing. I used a 3_D embossing folder from Sizzix that I inked inside of the folder with navy ink, and I embossed my gray card front.  I also used this 3-D snowflake combination embossing and die cut. The sentiment is from Spellbinder. I used a little beaded jewel as the center of these snowflakes.
You can find the details of this challenge here:

Use Your Stash - Vintage

Vintage is so fun and I love these old photos that Tim Holtz sells as add ons for vintage cards. The background pieces were from my scrap pile and I mounted it on kraft paper. It doesn't show in the photo too well but I distressed the edges with antique pages distress oxide ink to look like an old photo. The sentiment is a Tim Holtz idea-o-logy strip. The dies are from Sizzix.
\You can find the details for this challenge here:

Jingle Bell challenge - Spirit of Christmas Past

It is always fun to pull out an old favorite Christmas stamp for a challenge and I thought this one was perfect for the theme of "The Spirit of Christmas Past" for the Jingle Bell Challenge that is going on. These sweet little vintage girls in their winter finery all decked out for the season. I pulled out some vintage types of papers to use for the background. I die cut some holiday greenery and used red gemstones as holiday berries. The image is colored with copic markers. I have had this stamp for many years and it has gotten seperated from its set and I am unsure of the maker of this stamp.  You can find the details of this challenge here:

Addicted to CAS 245 - Holidays

It is always fun to get an early start on some Christmas cards, so I used this Addicted to CAS challenge to get this one done. I used a Sizzix 3-D embossing folder and an old Christmas sentiment (I am not even sure of the source). With my finger inked with distress oxide inks I rubbed over the embossed portion of the poinsettia with red ink, and then over the leaves with green. The details of this challenge can be found here:

My Time to Craft - Using die cuts

I am trying to get an early start on my Christmas cards this year, so I made this one for the My Time to Craft challenge and the challenge being making use of die cuts. I used this Santa with his reindeer die from Sizzix and this tree die from Momenta. The stars are silver puff stickers. The background was done with versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder on red carrdstock.  It is an old Stampin' Up text background stamp I had in my collection. The card base is a green cardstock, and the mat is made with a Paper Studio green plaid design paper. You can find the details for this challenge here:   http://mytimetocraftchallenge.blogspot.com/2023/08/mttc-515-theme-is-use-die-cuts-with.html

TGIF 435 and Daring Cardmakers Challenges

I am entering this into two challenges this week. One theme was Glitter in my veins over at TGIF challenges, and the other is to use butterflies for the Daring Cardmakers challenge.  You can find the details for these challenges here:

The stamp is from Hero Arts, the butterfly is a sticker from my stash that has a lacy look. The papers are from the many design papers I have in my stash, and I used a lavender card base. A quick and easy card and I always love finding some treasured stashed away to fit these wonderful themes on challenge cards. I find my challenges of the week over on the Challenges  for Days blogsite because challenges can always motivate me and helps get my mojo going!!

Color Throw Down - 757

I loved this color combo this week on the Color Throw Down challenge and used this Power Poppy digital as my image. I used Copic Markers and colored pencils to color the image. I loved this 3-D embossing folder by Sizzix as it picked up the pattern of  the leaves on this flower. You can find the details of the Color Thrown Down challenge here:

Inspired by Neutrals

I made this for the "Inspired by ..." challenge. I used kraft paper and white embossing powder which are two of my favorites togethher. This stamp is from Unity Stamps. I used some subtle stenciling in the background, so versamark splatters stamped from an old SU itty bitty background stamp and embossed with white embossing powder.  I mounted this on a darker brown. I colored some clear rhinestones with a brown copic marker.

A Place to Start - Leaves or trees

I used this piece of core'dinations paper that had a green base under the black wash. I embossed it with my Sizzix 3-D leaves embossing folder, and then sanded off the black. The green that appeared was not as bright as I would have wanted it, so I used mowed lawn distressed oxide ink, and rubbed the pad over the embossed paper. I added a simple green strip for the sentiment (from Stampendous).  I discovered this challenge over at the challenges for Days blog, and you can  find the details of the challenge here:

52 Christmas Challenge - black and white

I love getting a few Christmas cards made during the year so I try to take part in at least one or two Christmas card challenges a month. This week I found this 52 Christmas challenge to be an interesting theme - to make a black and white card. So I found some black and white design papers that might go well with this stamp from Sweet and Sassy stamps. I used the gold chrome paper band just as little contrast on the card. I put dimensional strips behind the image panel. You can find the details of this challenge here:

Crazy is our Fame, stenciling is our game

I have enjoyed collecting stencil over the last few years and have been doing a lot of combining them on backgrounds. I did this monochromatic card using a stencil from Impression Obsessions and some medallions that I am not sure who the source is. Not sure of the source of the butterfly either, and the sentiment is from Stampendous, I thought this would make a great card for the Crazy is our fame and stenciling is our game challenge this month using butterflies and stencils. I used various purple distressed oxide inks for my background, versafine clair black fforr my stamping and copic markers for the coloring, I added a few sequins for a little sparkle and also a little sparkle gel pen to the wings of the butterflies.

Peace on Earth Christmas challenge #45

I made this card for the Peace on Earth challenge this week. I cut and pieced two stamped image together to come up with this crab. The crab is a Tim Holtz image and the shell is from Stampin' Up. I stenciled this circle surrounded with dots from a negative side of a die from Impression Obsessions. I used blue distressed oxide ink to blend in the circles. I free-handed the Santa hat and the sentiment for this card. I thought this would add a little humor for the Christmas season.

BYSH Cardmakers Linky Party 2023

I discovered this old 2000 Stampin' Up stamp at my parents' house this weekend and decided to give it a little love. I robbed some pretty design paper scraps from my sister, Lynn and was able to create this stamp while I am away from my own stamp room. My friends Holly and Kia informed me about this Linky Party starting this week so I got so excited. You can find the information about it here on their blog: https://byshcardmakers.blogspot.com/2023/07/christmas-in-july-2023-byshc-linky-party.html
