Daring Cardmakers Challenge - Bauble

For my bauble for the Daring Cardmaker challenge I did this original zentangle as I am away from most of my crafting tools at the moment. I always have a fine tip sharpie and paper though, and I do happen to have some colored pencils and alcohol markers as well.  You can find the details for  this challenge here: https://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com/2023/12/15-dec-one-word-prompt-bauble.html

and I am also entering this into this challenge:

I made this card using a reindeer for the Alphabet challenge this week. I used design paper for the sky, tore some white paper for the snow piles on the ground, and die cut the tree and the deer. I used a white gel pen to add snowflakes on the tree. The sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy Designs.

You can find the details of this challenge here:

Sweet Stampin' Christmas challenge

I used gold chrome cardstock to die cut the sentiment. The little gnome and matching die are from Rubbernecker. I added some gemstones to my die cut tree.  You can find the details for this challenge here:

Cupcake Inspiration #583

I made this card for the Cupcake Inspiration challenge #583  found here:

I embossed the musical paper, and the other paper is from Unity. The stamps are from Impression Obsessions. All the stamping was done with versamark ink and embossed in gold embossing powder. I used a cross gemstone as the center of my star.

All Sorts Challenge - winter colors

I made this card for the All Sorts Challenge to use winter colors. I love blue and white as my winter colors and the gold is a perfect accent for it. The Jesus is wonderfull stamp is from Stampabilities. The Merry Christmas stamp is from Inkadinkado. I used versamark ink and added gold embossing powder to it. The background blue paper is from Unity. I framed it with gold chrome paper and used a blue cardstock for my base.
You can find the details for this challenge here:

C.R.A.F.T. - challenge #700

I am busy getting my Christmas cards made and since I make each one an individual design, each one is different. So, I love taking part in these challenges that involve Christmas designs. I made this for the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge, which has a Christmas themed challenge for this week. I used some black cardstock for the cardbase, and some wonderful design paper from Paper Studio for the background layer. I used a nativity die for the image. This is one of my favorites in my collection. I often do my die cutting at different times when I have less time to be creative and have my die cuts ready as needed. That being the case, I don't always remember which company made that die. I think this is either a Sizzix or a Spelllbinder. I am too lazy to go hunt down the actual die today. You can find the details for this challenge here:

Try It on Tuesday - Traditional Christmas

I made this for the Try it on Tuesday challenge to make a traditional Christmas card. I used some wonderful traditional colors and some great design paper from Unity for my background paper on my black card base. The poinsettia is stamped and embossed in gold embossing powder. Then I colored it with alcohol ink markers. I am not sure of the source for this large poinsettia, but the sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy stamp.
You can check out the details for this challenge here:

Q is for quadrangle

This is a fun masculine birthday card I have made for my stash. I used some scraps from my scrap pile and then die cut 4 deer to go with the quadrangle theme for this Alphabet Challenge. The birthday sentiment is from a Spellbinder set.
You can find the details for this Alphabet Challenge here:

ABC Christmas challenge - w is for wreath

I did this wreath in not your traditional Christmas colors for the ABC Christmas challenge this week. W is for wreath. This stamp is from Sweet and Sassy stamps and so is the sentiment stamp. I colored the image with alcohol markers and stamped the image and sentiment in versafine clair black. The background card base is white and the background layer is design paper from Unity. You can find the details for this challenge here:

Doing these fun Christmas challenges help motivate me in my Christmas card making, so I appreciate finding so many online to take part in.

Sisterhood of crafters challenge - Sweater Weather

I did this fun card for the sisterhood of crafters challenge this week. The theme was "sweater weather".
I used a burgundy card base with design papers for the other layers. The stamp is from Unity as is the sentiment. I colored it with alcohol markers. We are lucky in my part of Texas if we even get sweater weather around Christmas, but I always enjoy when we do get to wear them around Christmas. Snow is really rare so cold is usually in the 40s.

You can find the linky and details for the Sisterhood of crafter's challenge here:

Can You Handle the Pressure challenge - Christmas

I love embossing on design papers and decided to give it a try with this grid plaid. I mounted it onto a white card base. The die cut is from Spellbinder and done using pink glittery cardstock. The poinsettia is a Power Poppy digital that I sized and colored with copic markers. The sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  Embossing is one of my favorite techniques to use so I love taking part in the Can You Handle the Pressure challenges. This week the theme is Christmas and this worked right into my holiday making schedule. You can find the linky and details for the Can You Handle the Pressure here:

Jingle Belle Blog banner challenge

The challenge for the Jingle Belles this week was to use their blog banner as a source of inspiration. So I was inspired by the pink, the trees, and the sparkle on the trees. I stenciled a triangular pattern onto some printed design paper. I added this white silhouette of a tree and some forest animals as the main focus, and added pearls as snowflakes. I added some sparkly Nuvo to the tree to add a little glisten. I decided I would use pink ink on the sentiment as well. You can find the Jingle Belle challenge linky here:

I am seriously card making now for the rest of my Christmas cards. I try to do these challenges and others during to year to keep me with a pretty good stash to begin with but now it will be strictly Christmas cards that I will be creating.

Can You Handle the Pressure? embossing and Thanksgiving

The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Clair Black ink using a Stampendous sentiment.  I am planning mailing it to a friend for Thanksgiving!  I used it for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers on Sunday, and for the Can you Handle the Pressure challenge for their Thanksgiving theme.  You can check out the Can You Handle the Pressure challenge here:

C.R.A.F.T. challenge #697

My sweet little great great nephew turned 1 this week, so I made this card for him. I am entering it in the  C.R.A.F.T. challenge #697 to make a card for a child. The space suit is a stamp from Deep Red and the birthday sentiment is from Stampendous. I free handed the cutting of the big number one! He is the first of the newest generation of our family, so I refer to  him inside the card as Commander Beckett, the one in charge of the next generation.
You can find the details and link to the C.R.A.F.T. challenge here:

Crazy is our fame Stenciling is our game - Leaves

Over the past few years I have really enjoyed getting into stenciling and collecting them. I know the stencil I used for the brown leaves is from A colorful Life. I am not sure of the source of the other leaf stencil. I used fall colors from my collection of Distress Oxide inks. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.  I followed the theme of the Crazy is our fame, Stenciling is our Game that can be found here:

                    https://stencilfun.blogspot.com/2023/11/november-stencil-fun.html

Crafty Rocket Challenge - Winter time (No Christmas)

I used design papers on the background for this card. The silhouette die is from Impression Obsessions. The sentiment is from Unity. I really liked this gray, red, black and white color scheme. I made it a winter theme rather than Christmas for the Crafty Rocket challenge theme.  You can read the details of the challenge on their blog found here:

https://craftrocketchallenges.blogspot.com/2023/11/challenge-109-wintertime-no-christmas.html

As You Like It - modern or traditional Christmas colors

I made this card in traditional Christmas colors for the As You Like It challenge this week. I love thee red and green of Christmas and wanted to use white with this as my neutral color. I live on the Texas Gulf coast, so I have only seen one white Christmas in my lifetime, but I do love seeing the snowy scenes on Christmas cards.  I used white to remind me of wintery snow, the red reminds me of the cardinals seen in the winter, and green reminds me of the evergreen trees of the season. I used design paper of red with white snowflakes on it for thee background panel of this card. I added little green holly leaves in addition to the die I used for the design. Silver gemstones I added for additional embellishments.  You can find the details and linky for this challenge here:

Color Throwndown #766

Wow, I was so honored this week to be the guest star designer over on the Color Throwdown Challenge this week. This is one of my favorite weekly challenges I try to take part in each week. The DT always has such inspiration designs they come up with to share and I love the color combo they come up with each week. I hope you have not discovered this challenge, you will go to their link and check them out:

Thanks, CTD for all the weekly fun you provide for us all throughout the year. I am honored to have gotten to participate with you this week.

On my card I made my background with distress oxide inks and used a Gina K stencil. The Thanks die is from Taylor Expressions (I think), and the flower dies are from Momenta. The pumpkin stamp is one of my older ones in my collection that I bought at a stamp shop here in the Houston area probably 20 years ago. I love all the details on it and the wonderful fullness of its shape. I am sorry I do not know the company who designed it.  I did the coloring with colored pencils and Copic markers.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #547

I love making cards that help me use up some of the pretty scraps of paper I have left over and this one was particularly fun. This was the sketch suggested in the challenge for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week.

The sentiment is from Impression Obsessions.

HMFMC 401

This is one of the fun stamps I have in my House Mouse collection that includes a little friend other than a mouse. I love using up any pretty scraps of papers I have left around, so these I used for the pattern for my background. This little sentiment strip from Tim Holtz just seemed to fit this scene and speak also of ourr "human" condition of just trying to find some peace for ourselves when life just gets too busy and hectic. I used colored pencils and Copic markers to color my image. Go check things out over at the House Mouse blog this week:

TicTacToe Challenge #231

Using a wonderful Spellbinder new Christmas die set for this cute card, I decided to enter it in the Tic Tac Toe #231 Challenge this week. I used the middle horizonal line: lace, gingerbread, and gingham. The sweet little gingerbread man is tucked into this fabulous stocking. This is a 5 by 7 card. I am glad to be getting an early start on some of my Christmas cards this year. The lace is gold foil paper cut with a Sizzix die.

As you like it and Can you Handle the Pressure?

I am using this card for two challenges this week:
The As You Like it challenge - and my choice is Halloween because I love fall and getting to use my fall stamps, and the Can You Handle the Pressure and using a 3-D embossing folder from Spellbinders.

Here are the details of these challenges and their links:

https://asyoulikeitchallenge.blogspot.com/2023/10/favourite-halloween-or-fairies-and-why.html

The big pumkpin stamp I have had for a long time and can't remember the company who made it, but it one of my favorited pumpkins in my collection.  The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up set from many years ago as well. I used my newest 3_D embossing folder from Spellbinder to add the over all texture to the card. Then I rubbed some brown distressed oxide ink over the top of it to add the the textured look. I used copic markers to color the pumpkin.  Black cardstock was used for the cardbase and I used some double sided fall design paper for the strips.

Allsorts Challenge - add texture

Using up lots of scraps for this card and all having different textures and patterns them. The die cut set is from Spellbinders, and the flower image is from a Unity set designed by Gina K. I am not sure of the source for the big pumpkin, which has been a part of my stamp collection for over 20 years. I used copic markers for the coloring of the images. I am using this card for the challenge over at Allsorts this week, with the details of the challenge below:

Time Out Challenge #249

Graphics 45 has the most wonderful vintage papers. This one highlights Vintage Hollywood. I used both sides of the design paper for the background of this slimline card. I used Tim Holtz paper dolls photos for part of my main image and these pretty flowers from a Unity stamp designed by Gina K called Friendship Blooms.   I used a Tim Holtz's Idea-o-logy strip for my sentiment. I am using this card for the Time Out Challenge #249 for their vintage themed challenge.

The flowers were colored with Copic alcohol markers and fussy cut and attached with dimensional foam tape. The sentiment says: "shine like the whole universe is yours."

Color Throwdown Challenge 764

Fun colors for fall for the Color Throwdown Challenge this week. I used a digital from Sweet and Sassy and colored it with colored pencils and alcohol ink markers. I used a Gina Marie die to cut it out. I added blue, green and orange stripes to the brown plaid paper for the background. Just to add a little more blue, I punched out blue circles to add to the layout design!

Dies, Stencils, and Christmas!

I am sending most of my card making time now getting started on Christmas cards. I have 2 orders to fill and then my own list to get to. I am using this card today for three challenges I found on the Challenges for Days blog site this week:

So I have linked these all to their sites so you can get the details and the upload link.
I used a die from Taylor Expressions, I used a stencil from Rubbernecker, and my favorite inks to use for stenciling are Distressed Oxide Inks. The sentiment is a stamp from Impression Obsesssion. As you can tell, I am a very eclectic collector of stamps, dies, and supplies, simply cause there are so many great companies out there that handle the supplies and tools I need for this craft that I love. Thanks for all the creative minds that have a part in my end results.

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 694 non-traditional Christmas colors

I used distressed oxide inks for the background. Then I spritzed it with water to get the faded dots of color. I put this paper into a 3-D embossing folder by Sizzix. I mounted it onto bright pink card base. I used this two piece die set from Spellbinder as my main image of focus. I added the die cut leaves and flower punch as my embellishment and also two gemstones for the flower center and the star.  This card fits the criteria for the C.R.A.F.T. challenge this week to make a Christmas card using non-traditional colors. It is so good to be getting some Christmas cards done ahead of time before the rush is on!!

Jingle Belles Christmas challenge

It's time to get going full time on my Christmas cards, so I wanted to include a pink one in my stash. You can find the details and link for this challenge here:

I watched a great video by Lydia for Hero Arts this week, and incorporated some of the things I learned on this card for my background. I have had many friends and relatives who have dealt with breast cancer this past year and made a self challenge for myself to do at last one pink card a week to post on my FB page honoring these brave and courageous women in my life. I used various stamps from my collection of stamps, and used some of my favorite shades of pink distressed oxide inks for my background ink blending. I added a few dies as my focus points.

House mouse challenge #400

I made this for this week's House Mouse challenge #400 to use ribbon or twine. I  colored my mice with alcohol ink markers. I used a die cut door hinge as an embellishment and a sticker. The red grosgrain ribbon was the finishing touch.  You can find the detail of this challenge here:

http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/2023/10/hmfmc400oct2nd-oct15th-hostess-april.html

Thanks, House Mouse for selecting my card as one of the top cards this week. I love my little mice stamps!
