Just Add Ink #543 - Sketch

I loved seeing this sketch for the Just Add Ink challenge on Friday as it gave me a chance to use up some of my stashed scraps that I just cannot seem to throw away. I hit my black and white scraps to come up with this card.  You can find this sketch challenge here:

http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2021/02/just-add-ink-543sketch.html

Here is my card:

The rose stamp is from Inkadinkado, and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I stamped the images with versafine black ink, and colored the rose image with Copic markers.

Cut It Up challenge #220

This card was made for the Cut It Up challenge #220. It was to use a diecut on a black/white card with a pop of color. I had fun with this one as I used up some of my saved up scraps for this.  I punched the vase with a paper punch, and die cut the leaves and berries using Sizzix set. I colored the berries with a red copic marker and stamped my sentiment from Gina K with versafine black ink.

You can find the details to the challenge at the blogsite below:

Double D challenges Hearts

Having such fun and getting a lot of cards made this morning. I loved this tag I had made but thought it would look best on a card. So using some stickers for the background, I addeed the tag with dimensional tabs. I am entering it in the Double D challenge before it closes its link today.  The stamps are all from Unity. I embossed the hearts and treble clef with white embossing powder, The background stripes are stamped with distress oxide ink.

Aud Sentiments challenge Spring + sentiment 269

When that last blast of cold weather that is so rare to our area of Texas, I am ready to be thinking about spring for sure. Aud Sentiments Challenge has us thinking of spring. And since my favorite part of spring is seeing all the flowering of plants, I picked this red rose for my card. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz ideology pads. These are so fun and easy to use. You can find this challenge HERE:

CCEE2108 Fairytale Madness

Hello, Manal is here with the last challenge for this month.

We all have been huge on fairytales in our childhood (the inner child in us still adores them).

Create something featuring your favorite fairytale/ carnival or a circus! The choice is yours.

Should you post to an online gallery other than your own blog, please add keyword or tag CCEE2108.

We hope you will be inspired to play along and share your creations with us using Mr. Linky below:

 http:// cceestampers,blogspot.com

Check out all the favorites of the design team  while you are there.

I picked The Three Little Pigs  as my favorite Fairy Tale. I die cut these three pink pigs with an Elizabeth diecut. I cut 3 ovals from kraft paper with a Sizzix die set. The background design paper is from Graphics 45. As you all might be familiar with this story, one pig built his house of straw, one pig built his house from sticks, and the other little pig built his house from bricks. Of course it is a story of the hard work of incentive and how much effort you put into getting the job done. Things of real value and strength come from spending more time and effort in the project, investing your best, and in the long run will pay off later. So in my freehanded writing I added around the first pig "from the house of straw." and around the second pig I wrote "from the house of sticks," and around the third pig I wrote, "from the house of bricks." Each little pig  looks pretty much the same from the outside, but it is the determination and desires of our inner selves that can truly give us very differing results in the things in which we can succeed.

HMFMC334 - bright and cheerful colors

Making use of bright and cheerful colors this week for the HMFMC 334 challenge.  You can find the details for the challenge here:

            http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/2021/02/334-anything-goes-option-of-bright.html

I water colored this image with distress oxide inks. Getting to make a bright and cheery card brightened up this unusually cold winter weather that we have had this week in Texas. Our houses are just not built to withstand these temperatures for long periods of time, and apparently our power sources are not set to handle it either as most of us experienced power outages for hours or days in freezing temperatures.

Paper Shelter Challenge - shades of blue

It is sad that I have had to send out so many sympathy cards lately. I try to keep some made up because it is tough having to them at the time of a loss. So this is for my stash and decided blues would be the perfect color for this one. I used the negative side from a die to blend these distress oxide blues for this card. The image is from Stampabilities and the sentiment is from Gina K. I think CAS are most appropriate for a sympathy card.
I am submitting this card for the Paper Shelter Challenge of shades of blue this week. You can find this challenge here:

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 587

I try to do a couple of challenges a month that do Christmas cards throughout the year, because that is how I enjoy creating mine each year. I don't make duplicates and each card is unique even if I might use some of the same images or themes for them. So, when I saw that the C.R.A.F.T. challenge this week was Christmas themed. So this cute digital from Sassy Cheryl was sitting there ready to be colored and put on a card. I stamped the bottom panel of the background with a background stamp from Rubbernecker, used a cute design paper for the upper panel. I mounted it on a green card base. The digital image from Sassy Cheryl I colored with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment, added a gold chrome strip across the background. As embellishments I punched holly leaves and used sequins for the berries.

Here is where you can find this challenge:

Fusion Challenge- Rainbow Dress

We don't get very cold winter weather in my part of Texas BUT "Snow-vid 21" hit us hard this past week and although I did not see much snow, the below freezing temperatures were beyond what my poor old bones are use to. Then on top of that our power went out Monday night, the coldest of the nights we had and remained off until Wednesday evening. It was even too cold to stamp and without power my lighting was not too good either. Today life is a little bit back to normal, and I did spend some time stamping today. I did this card for the Fusion Challenge that was a sketch and the option of a rainbow dress or both. I did both and had such fun. Here is what I came up with:

http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2021/02/fusion-rainbow-dress.html

I used a stamp from Unity that I love, and the sentiment was from a set from Gina K. I am pretty eclectic when it comes to collecting stamps and I mix  them up on my cards. There are so many great artists out there that are putting their work into rubber  that I am not partial to any one company. So I share what little wealth I have with as many companies as I can. LOL I often color my images with Copic markers as I did here.

I was so happy that my card got selected as the zen master of the challenge. I am greatly honored.

CCEE2107 Love your Pet day

Hello, Manal  is here again with another fun project.

It is Love your Pet Day, so create a project which showcases pets. Feel free to add children with pets as well.

Should you post to an online gallery other than your own blog, please add keyword or tag CCEE2107.

We hope you will be inspired to play along and share your creations with us using Mr. Linky below!

I used this embossing folder from Darice that I inked and them pressed onto my white cardstock. The dog is a stamp from Tim Holtz and the sentiment is one I failed to label, but perhaps is from Fiskar but not sure.  The dots are design paper scraps.

Christmas challenges for Valentines

I love taking part in challenges that present a Christmas challenge out of season. It helps me to get some cards done all through out the year and makes me less busy trying too fit all my card making into the short season that is just before Christmas when life gets busy with decorating, gift buying, and other things that pop up. So this card I made tonight is one for two challenges that both have Christmas themes this week: the Krafty Chick challenge 546 with the theme of Christmas and the Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge 529 that is an anything goes with a use of some green on it. So here is my card that I hope meets all the criteria for each:

I used up some leftover scraps for my background and used a diigital from Sassy Cheryl designs for the angel image and a joy diecut for my sentiment. Some of the gold chrome paper like the star did not photograph so well in my night ligting situation but  thought it turned out pretty cute!

You can find these two challenges at these blogsites below:

http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/2021/02/chnc-challenge-529.html

and https://kraftychickschallenge.blogspot.com/2021/02/krafty-chicks-challenge-546-christmas.html

I colored the image with colored pencils.

Paper Players 528

The challenge for The Paper Players this week is a color challenge of red/pink, black and white, and gold/silver. I inked an embossing folder with black and red distress oxide inks, then spritzed it with water and the pressed my white cardstock inbetween it. I added some red plaid washi tape up the side, stamped this image from Unity and colored it with copic markers, red colored pencil, and a metallic gold leaf pen, I used some gold chrome paper for accents and punched circle accents.

You can find the details of this challenge here:

Sketch Saturday 647

I made this card for the Sketch Saturday Challenge using this sketch:

The background is stenciled using distress oxide ink, the other papers are design papers. The sentiment is from Stamplorations, and the bow is a die cut.

Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge

This week's challenge for the Christmas Throwdown challenge was to use pink, purple, and blue. I used distress oxide inks: spun sugar, stormy sky, and wilted violet. I stamped trees in versafine black and rubbed the black ink pad over the bottom edge for the road. The truck is a diecut, the trees are a stamp from Unity, and the sentiment is an old SU Christmas stamp.

You can check out the details for the challenge HERE:

CCEE2106

Hi, Manal is here again with another challenge!

We all find love in the tiniest of gestures throughout our lives. Also, Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Let's create a project that features love.

Make anything for your love, in any color. The choice is all yours!

Should you post to an online gallery other than your own blog, please add keyword or tag CCEE2106.

We hope you will be inspired to play along and share your creations with us using Mr. Linky  that can be found over on the CCEEStampers blog HERE.

My little astronaut is way in the atmosphere with sending his love. In fact, he had to pack his own air.  This stamp is from Deep Red and the sentiment that I embossed in white embossing powder is from Unity. The background is actually a piece of design paper. The hearts are puffy stickers.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge for February

I recently purchased a few digital images from Mo Manning. She is my favorite artist for child images because she captures the sweetness and innocence of their radiance. I have enjoyed using some of these cute images on my Valentines this year. I made this one today just for this challenge.  I colored the image with Copic markers (my favorite coloring medium). I used some design papers as the frame and as the diecut heart border. I have 3 grand daughters so I thought one of them will receive this and they all like bling, so I added the rhinestone trim.

You can find Mo's monthly challenge here:

Crafty Catz 537 and My Time to Craft 450

I am entering this in the Crafty Catz Challenge and the My Time to Craft challenge this week since Valentine and Love are the themes. This is a cute digital I purchased from Mo Manning. The sentiment is from Unity.  I used a pale pink card base, a designed paper background and a pink glittered paper heart that was diecut. For embellishments I added a rhinestone color and a heart sticker for the tag.

Here is where you can find these challenges:

Use Your Stash Challenge 415 - hearts

A friend sent me this sparkly glittered heart probably over a year ago, and I finally made a Valentine worthy of  it (hopefully). The sentiment is from an old retired Stampin' Up set that I have kept over the years. The lacy border is made from a die from Sizzix, I used kraft paper as the base just to contrast a bit from all the shiny and sparkle. The red is a foil paper and I used white for the lacy borders and sentiment.

You can find this challenge here:

Double D - Valentine/Love and Mod Squad challenge

I used a Gina K stencil for this design, and the sentiment is from a retired set from Stampin' Up.  I used candy apple distress oxide ink. The hearts are puffy stickers. There is a strip of washi plaid tape across the tape.

I am entering it in the Double D challenge this week and the Mod Squad Challenge to use the word Love on your card.  You can find that challenges here:

CCEE2105 Thank a postman (or mail carrier)

  Hello everyone,

Manal will be the one hosting the challenges for the month of February.

It's been really cold, however, the warmth of gifts from loved ones has succeeded in making us happy.

We wouldn't have been able to send or receive anything if there were no mailmen out there who deliver happiness to our doorsteps.

Let's thank them for all the efforts they make!

Create a project that features a mailman/ postman, letter box, letters, mail truck or envelopes.

Should you post to an online gallery other than your own blog, please add keyword or tag CCEE2105.

We hope you will be inspired to play along and share your creations with us using Mr. Linky over on the CCEEStampers blog site HERE. While you are there check out the design teams fabulous creations for this challenge.

Here is my card which is a free digital I got over on Impression Obsession. I colored it with colored pencils. The die cut is from Tim Holtz (Sizzix).

Color Throwdown Challenge #628

I stamped this card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge using pastel pink, lime, lavender, and aqua. I used some of my distress oxide inks. I used an image from Unity as is the sentiment. You can find the details of the challenge HERE.

Retro Challenge

There's a great color challenge going over on the Retro Challenge this week to use red, black, white, and gray. I love this color combo so here is my card:

Love this paper that I had in my stash for over a year. I colored the some of the white flowers on the design paper red. I used town black strips to crisscross in front of the card. I stamped the Enjoy in candied apple red distressed oxide ink, then I die cut it and stamped the "this moment" across the front of it.  I mounted it all onto red cardstock,

Gina K February Challenge

I made this card with a Gina K stencil and stamp set for the February Love challenge oover at Gina K Designs.  You can find the details to the challenge here:

https://ginakdesigns.com/2021/02/01/february-2021-monthly-mix-challenge/?v=7516fd43adaa

I used candy apple distress oxide ink for the stenciling. I used versafine black for the stamping. I colored the red first with colored pens but went back over it with red copic markers. I used copic markers for the leaves.

I plan to send this to my best friend who lives in Colorado and has overcome breast cancer this past year.

Double Trouble Challenge #76

I did this card for the Double Trouble challenge #76 using The Thing 1 challenge and the Thing 3 challenge. Your can find the detail of how all this works here:

I used 1 stamped image from Unity, 2 kinds of design paper, and three sticker hearts for my embellishments. Since I also made use of hearts on my card it met the requirements for the Thing 3 challenge as well.
