Inkspirational Challenge #319

I have been collecting stencils for quite a while now. My first experience with stencils was watching my grandmother do stenciling on fabric, rubbing in some type of fabric paint and layering the colors with the various sections of the stencil. She used them on her quilts, pillowcases, etc. I had fun using two different stencils to make this card. I stamped a sentiment with a stamp from Impression Obsessions.
This card is for the Inkspirational Challenge that was to use stenciling.

https://inkspirationalchallenges.blogspot.com/2024/06/inkspirational-challenge-319-use.html

I did not use paste as an option. My favorite ink to use for stenciling is distress oxide inks.  I stamped the sentiment with versafine clair black ink.

Just add Ink #708

I made this card for the Just Add Ink #708 for their Just choose 2 challenge this week. I chose embossing and blending. I die cut a white doiley for an extra layer for under the flower.

I did a little stenciling for the blue panel. The stencil is from A Colorful Life designs. The sentiment is from a tablet from Tim Holtz.  You can find the details for this challenge here:

AI challenge - Stars and stripes Forever

I made this fun card for the current challenge over at Art Impressions with a stars and stripes theme. I thought this I'd load this little truck from the Interchangeable Car set with some fun things to take to the beach for the 4th of July.
You can find the details of this challenge here:

Fun backgrounds with scraps

I have been trying really hard to deplete my scrap piles and have been cutting them into  half inch width stripes and then design these pieced backgrounds with them. It has been fun and is something I can take with me when I am away from my stamp room. I keep them in a tub that is easy to tote around with me and all it takes is cut card fronts, glue bottle, and scissors to sit and do these. I have to go out of town quite often to help do caregiving to my 95 year old parents. I can accomplish quite a lot without having to haul so many supplies along to do a little crafting.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge #583

For the Atlantic Heart Sketch challenge, I made a stenciled background by combining about three stencils together. Two of the stencils are from A Colorful Life and the other one is from my older part of my stencil collection where I was not keeping track of where it came from. I used distress oxide inks  with with pink, blue and green inks. when the pink and blue blended together there was a shade of purple. I used green cardstock to mount the white oval, and I used a lilac cardstock for the card base. The stamp is from Sweet an Sassy and it is stamped with versdafine clair black ink. The dies are from Sizzix.  I used enamel dots for the flower centers.

Retro Rubber #233

Having some fun in my stamp room today, doubling up on stencil to create some new looks with them. I used  2 stencils from A Colorful Life, and a plaid stencil that I am not sure who the maker of it was. I doubled the all over leaf stencil with the plaid stencil. I used green distress oxide ink for blending it. Then with a darker green doxi I stenciled this smaller stencil of leaves,  making three bunches of the. I chose this delightful House Mouse stamp as the image. I stamped it with Versafine Claire black ink and colored it with colored pencils. I used a gray Copic marker to color the mouse's body. The sentiment is done with a Tim Holtz sentiment strip that come in a tablet with adhesive already on it. I love those so much because it is always in doing the sentiment I always mess up. This makes life so much easier and there are such cute sayings to pick from.
You can find the details for the Retro Challenge here:

I used the center vertical line for my elements of my card. My House Mouse stamp has been in my collection of stamps for quite some time.

Festive Friday challenge 162 - 4th of July

I was playing around making doubled up stenciling making use of red and blue distress oxide inks with blending brushes on the stencils. I found there to be a lot of ink left on the stencil that I did not want to waste, so I spritzed it with water and laid white paper on it to see how that would turn out. This bottom panel shows the results. Then I used the negative piece of a punched flower to stencil the flowers over it to give it a little more color. The top panel was done by doubling up two different stencils and then rubbing the ink over the combined stencils. I had found these great 4th of July layered stickers on sale a few weeks ago so used two of them on this card. I love making slimline cards and need to make them more often than I do. I don't usually make and send 4th of July cards, but I will put this one in the mail so that someone can find a little surprise in their mailbox.
