Creative Knockouts #291 outside fun

On days when I have some time to stamp and browse through the challenges over on Paper Playful, I love to find challenges I may not have tried before. Challenges always seem to motivate and inspire me and they get my MOJO going and the creative juices flowin'. KWIM??  The challenge over on the Creative Knockout Blog is themed: outdoor fun. When my boys were kids, we enjoyed camping out on trips so we could enjoy the great fresh air of outdoors and be more in tune with nature. So, I made this joy fold card using a Unity stamp to represent more of a glam camp which is a step up from the pop up camper we used years ago. Making this card brought back some great happy memories.

Hi friends!  Kelly here with the last challenge for March.
Tomorrow is National Pencil Day.
Create a card coloring your image with colored pencils
 (no markers, watercolors, etc)
or featuring a pencil in your image
or both!

I colored my rose using a plain leaded pencil for the shaded area.

I spend some of my card making time, making these card bases with my left over scraps left on my paper cutter table. Then when I need a fast card, I have this part already done. It is great way to get those scraps out of the way. The only thing I needed to add to this one was the fussy cut rose, and my sentiment.

Christmas with the cuties #25

I have gottne way behind in my Christmas card making, which I try to spread over the year by doing at least 5 a month. This challenge today over at http://christmaswiththecuties.blogspot.com/ inspired me today to get a start on those cards. The challenge was to use white on white. I used tattered burlaap distress oxide ink to do my stamping. I added very little color to the image and then embossed the card base and did some white die cuts to add.

CCEE1912 Smoke and Mirror Day

Hi all!  Kelly here again with another March challenge.
Next week is National Smoke and Mirrors Day.
The celebration is based on magicians' illusions,
where magicians make objects appear or disappear with retracting mirrors
and confusing bursts of smoke.
Wave your magic wand and create a card with a surprise element!

Pop up cards are my BIGGEST challenge for me of all challenges. This twisted pop up card took me hours today to make. I followed the directions at Splitcoaststampers for this challenge.

The bees are stamped, the bricks were stenciled, and the leaves and flowers were die cut.

CCEE1911 National Shoe the World Day

Hi everyone ~ Kelly here with another March challenge.

Tomorrow is National Shoe the World Day.
Each day, over 500 million children,
teens and adults around the world do not have a pair of shoes to wear,
and despite the terrain and the climate, they walk barefoot.
Let's create a card using any shoe - cowboy boots, heels, flip-flops,
to help the awareness to donate any shoes you no longer need.

I used Carta Bella design paper, and my stamps I used were from Unity.  I added some diecut leaves and a paper punched flower.

MOJO Monday 511

I saw the Mojo Monday challenge on FB this morning, and finally got around to making a card for the challenge this afternoon. I used some great papers from Carta Bella, and  favorite old stamps from Stampin' Up. I colored with alcohol markers. You can find the challenge HERE

MOJO MONDAY sketch 510

I love checking our Julie Tilman's MOJO Monday sketch challenges. I am must a little late in doing it this week. Here is the card I made using a stencil and distress oxide ink for the background on white. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker, and then I stenciled the oval and die cut a cross using my cross from Verve. The flowers and fern are punched from dp. The centers of the flowers are tiny gemstones.

CCEE1910

Hi everyone!
Kelly is here with our challenges for March!
Monday was Fun Facts about Your Name Day.
What does your name mean?
Briefly research the meaning of your name and create a card!

If you can't find your name directly, create a card
based on a few letters IN your name ..
i.e. K = Kite, E = enamel dots, L = lavender

Elizabeth means Oath of God. Wasn't sure how to illustrate that, so I went with using some of the letters of my name. E - the word Enjoy, L is for lavender and leaves, I is for ivory cardstock, and Z for zentangling. I love the doodle and a few years ago I discovered the art of zentangling. So here is an original one I drew just for this challenge. Hope you like it.
