Poinsettia and Pomegranates - Power Poppy

For this month's challenge over at Power Poppy we are asked to use embossing wet or dry. I did something a little different on this one. For the background I applied versamark ink into the open spaces of a stencil. I then added white embossing powder to do a little embossing resist for the background. I used candied apple red from Distress Oxide inks, and then I stenciled the script in Lucky Clover Distress oxide ink. I colored my digital image from Power Poppy with a combination of colored pencils and copic markers. I added sparkle pen on the snowdrops, and gold metallic pen dots on the vase. The digital image I cut out and glued over the background stenciling.

Sketch Saturday #634 and water colored clouds

I have been wanting to try the watercoloring clouds for the WCE022 challenge all week, and finally found some time today to try it. As I was checking on other challenges that started today, I found the Saturday Sketch challenge HERE and I used this archived sketch from 2015 here:

I just recently purchased a Cricut Joy and made this silhouette of the shepherds with it.

IC778 and JUGS 560

I am using this for the SCS Inspiration challenge as the table setting on my background screen was what inspired me with my colors and images, and when I saw that the challenge for Just Us Girls was to use a word die cut, well this seemed perfect for both challenges.  I embossed some snowflakes on the hexagon shapes and then rubbed Distress Oxide Spun Sugar on the background of the hexagon. Then I printed out one of my favorite holiday arrangements from Power Poppy digitals. It is colored with copic markers. I also stamped some snow flakes onto the blushing bride cardstock base  with one of my old Stampin' Up sets.  Lastly, I added the die cut joy made with silver chrome cardstock. The flowers are popped up with a dimensional. I have gotten busy making Christmas cards so I will be able to send out more than usual this year. Since 2020 has been a year when I have seen less of friends and relatives because of Co-Vid, I am planning on sending them one of my one of a kind cards I make during the year.

CCEE2043 - More than one fold

 Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time again, here on CCEE Stampers. Today I (Frances) have another challenge to share with you.

More than 1 Fold - Create a card that has more than one fold… Gatefold, Z Fold Card, Easel card etc.

Let's take a look at our Design Teams creations ....

check them out at

 https://cceestampers.blogspot.com/

I chose to use the gatefold on this birthday card. The flower image and sentiment are digitals from Power Poppy. I colored the floral image with copic markers in colors that coordinated with my plaid paper. The card base is garden green cardstock.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge 40

I made this card for the Christmas Kickstart challenge to use pink. I stenciled the background with two shades of pink distress oxide inks. Then I stamped the pine leaves from Unity with spruce distress oxide ink. I then stamped the ornament (from Unity), colored it with copic markers, and then cut out and glued onto the card.  Here is where you can find this challenge:

CCEE2042 Dictionary day

 Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome back to CCEE Stampers. It's Frances here again this week bringing you another challenge.

Apparently tomorrow is Dictionary Day. For our challenge this week, create a card that includes words on your card. Maybe a scripty word background either stamped or using patterned papers, large focal sentiment etc.

Let's take a look at what our Design Team created for this challenge ...

Here is my card made as a wedding card for my great niece, Zoe, who is getting married at the end of  October. I embossed the By Definition background stamp with versamark ink, covered it with white embossing powder. Then I stenciled over it with a Gina K stencil using hickory smoke distress oxide ink. and did embossing resist. Then I embossed the word LOVE on the oval. I then stamped the flower to cut out and add. I mounted it on a gray card base.

Jingle Bell Christmas and Just Us Girls challenge

I love this stencil from Gina K so I used it to use various shades of pink distress oxide inks to make this ombre band on this Christmas card. I also used a retired sentiment stamp from Stampin' Up by stamping it with the bightest of the pinks. Although my silver chrome mounting of the panel and the holly leaves look more black than silver,  they are silver and my evening lighting situation for photographing reflected too much of the light. The berries are little dew drops of pink and red. I wanted to use this in the ombre challenge for Just Us Girls challenge this week as well as the pink challenge on the http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/2020/10/im-dreaming-of-pink-christmas.html

CCEE2041 World Octopus Day

 Hi Crafty Friends,

It's Frances here again this week bringing you another fun challenge.

Today is World Octopus Day, include an octopus or other sea animal on your card.

Now let's take a look at what our Design Team created this week over on the

CCEEStampers.blogspot.com

I have no octopus stamp so I came up with this idea with this seahorse.  Four of the octopus arms are reaching out from the side of the card.  The sentiment is one of the Tim Holtz snarky ones from his

idea-ology collection. The stamps are from Deep Red. This design paper worked out well for my design too. I colored the seahorse with a copic marker.

Come join in on the fun. If you put your card on SCS use CCEE2041 as your keyword.

My new digital from Stamplorations

I recently purchased this fabulous digital from Stamplorations and found it perfect for this easy layout that I like to use a lot. I embossed the brown paper, colored the mugs with copic markers, and mounted it to a scrap of design paper, I am adding it to Stamplorations' Anything that goes challenge for October that you can find  here by clicking to the  badge below:

Tuesday morning sketch 574

I've been in the mood to start my Christmas cards now that some cooler weather has arrived. This cute sketch for the Tuesday Morning Sketch motivated me to use this Artistic Impression stamp that I have never used before.  The papers I used are from Echo Park and the cardbase is kraft from Gina K.

Here is the sketch:
