For the As You Like It challenge to pick my 2 favorite color combos, I have to say for summer it is blue and yellow. It is so bright and cheery and reminds me of a wonderful sunny, summer day!! I live in Texas and we get lots of hot, sunny weather. This floral design is from a Power Poppy digital that I colored with colored pencils and alcohol markers. I did a little stenciling for the blue panel. The stencil is from A Colorful Life designs. The sentiment is from a tablet from Tim Holtz. You can find the details for this challenge here:

So this is for the Try it on Tuesday challenge to use embossing, I used a 3D embossing folder by Sizzix. The stamp I used is from Unity stamps. I mounted the card front to black paper. The paper border is from some scrapbook borders I had in my stash. I added white pearls just to add a little elegance to it all.

Can You Handle the Pressure challenge - Christmas
I love embossing on design papers and decided to give it a try with this grid plaid. I mounted it onto a white card base. The die cut is from Spellbinder and done using pink glittery cardstock. The poinsettia is a Power Poppy digital that I sized and colored with copic markers. The sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy Stamps. My Time to Craft - Using die cuts
I am trying to get an early start on my Christmas cards this year, so I made this one for the My Time to Craft challenge and the challenge being making use of die cuts. I used this Santa with his reindeer die from Sizzix and this tree die from Momenta. The stars are silver puff stickers. The background was done with versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder on red carrdstock. It is an old Stampin' Up text background stamp I had in my collection. The card base is a green cardstock, and the mat is made with a Paper Studio green plaid design paper. Inspired by Neutrals
I made this for the "Inspired by ..." challenge. I used kraft paper and white embossing powder which are two of my favorites togethher. This stamp is from Unity Stamps. I used some subtle stenciling in the background, so versamark splatters stamped from an old SU itty bitty background stamp and embossed with white embossing powder. I mounted this on a darker brown. I colored some clear rhinestones with a brown copic marker.

A Place to Start - Leaves or trees
I used this piece of core'dinations paper that had a green base under the black wash. I embossed it with my Sizzix 3-D leaves embossing folder, and then sanded off the black. The green that appeared was not as bright as I would have wanted it, so I used mowed lawn distressed oxide ink, and rubbed the pad over the embossed paper. I added a simple green strip for the sentiment (from Stampendous). I discovered this challenge over at the challenges for Days blog, and you can find the details of the challenge here:

Can you handle the pressure challenge - borders
I love my embossing folders and love finding new ways to use them. For the Can You Handle the Pressure challenge to emboss on the border, I embossed a panel to be my edge of the card, and cut this embossed image from an embossed glossy paper. I added it as the focal image of my card. The sentiment (a Tim Holtz ideaology strip) says Light the Way! I love white on white cards especially for white on white cards.

Tic Tac Toe 175
I love checking over to see what the Tic Tac Toe challenge has every week. This week I made this card for the vertical line on the right: square, leaves, and embossing. The card is a 5 by 5 square. The leaves are stenciled with green distress oxide ink using a stencil from A Colorful Life. I then embossed the card using one of my older Sizzix embossing folers. After the embossing I rubber an Espresso distress oxide ink pad over the raised text. I added a green ribbon treatment to the side. You can find this challenge here:
Dogs are a Man's Best Friend
I made this card for two challenges this week that had similar criteria. As You Like It challenge was to use your favorite domestic animal and my favorite is a dog because they seem to displayed the most unconditional love for humans. Since it is a dog I was featuring on this card, I am also using it for the Can You Handle the pressuure challenge this week. The theme being dogs or cats, and to use embossing on your card. These challenges can be found here:
The stamps I used for this card is from Unity. I stamped it with Versafine Clair Black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I embossed the peach panel behind the dog.
