The stamps I used are from Unity I stamped with versafine black and  colored the cactus with copic markers, I stenciled the background pattern with antique liner distress oxide ink. I masked the cactus as I did the stenciling.

Festive Friday 0062

I stenciled a geometric pattern in black ink, used a floral theme, CAS design, and black and white with a pop of color. The floral stamp is from Unity.

CCEE2026 Celebrating the bald eagle

Vicky is hosting this week and today we celebrate the Bald Eagle. So, Vicky is asking us to  make a card with a bird on it....extra credit if it is a Bald Eagle.

Vicky's daughter-in-law loves Eagles.  She and her son go to our local lake to spot the Eagles high up in the poles.  The size of their nests is unreal and seeing one in real life is one of life's pleasures!

Have a fun, creative day!

This is my favorite of my bald eagle stamps, which is an old Stampin' Up stamp that I still have. I love to use it on patriotic cards especially around the 4th of July. I decided to use red, white, and blue, and the stars and stripes in my design. That is our country's first flag representing the 13 original colonies that made up the USA at its origin behind the eagle's head.

Twofer Card challenge #28

I just recently found this challenge to make two different cards using the same stamp, dies, etc. On this one I used the same embossing border from Darice. On one of the cards I inked the inside of the embossing folder. Then I ran it through my embossing machine. I added this little mouse three times and thinking the embossed portion reminded me of swiss cheese. The other card I used without inking the embossing folder. I used a different House Mouse stamp. One card is a friendship card and the other is a thinking of you card.  Hope I didn't stretch it too far making it an embossing folder as my same item used for both cards. I am new and learning. I never make the same card twice so this challenge was right up my alley.

Global Design Project 246

This is the made for the Global Design Project 246 which was a sketch challenge this week.
I used an old Stampin' Up set I had in my collection and used my vibrant distress oxide inks for all the inks on this. The design paper was a scrap retrieved from my scrap pile. You can find this challenge here:  http://www.global-design-project.com/2020/06/global-design-project-246-sketch.html

Fruits of summer

This card is using this week's Splitcoaststampers Sketch challenge (807) and I stamped the image with a light colored ink so I could do no line water coloring on it for the Water coloring on Wednesday challenge on SCS as well. I used the strawberries because of the fruit challenge on Mod Squad this.  this imagine is from Flourishes and stamped with Doxi color: aantique linen. I then water colored the image with various reds and greens of Distress Oxide inks, and a few other colors. I am not too good at water coloring but I do love it and the tutorial over on Splitcoaststampers by Lydia which is fabulous.

Addicted to stamps and more 395

This is for the photo inspiration  challenge over on Addicted to stamps and More 395. You can find their challenge here: http://addictedtostamps-challenge.blogspot.com/

For the background of my card I inked the inside of my Darice embossing folder with a dark blue distress oxide ink, spritzed it with water and printed in onto my white cardstock.  Then I used Unity stamps for the image and sentiment. I fussy cut those and added them to the background. As you can probably guess I was inspired by the colors and also the center photo on this inspiration selection.

HMFMC318 and Festive Friday challenge

Here is my card for the HMFMC challenge going on with the twist of using circles/dots.
I am also using this card for the FF0061 challenge honoring the National Orange Blossom Day with my elements used being citrus, yellow, green, and  flower. This little guy looks like he has the right idea of how to cool off on a hot summer day and enjoy a little citrus in his unique way.

CCEE2025 Youth Day

Welcome to another challenge from the CCEE gang!

Today, let's make a card for a kid of any age!  We all have little kids in our life, but we also have those "big" kids who never seem to age (or grow up!)  Your choice, a young person....or a person who never ages!

I always loved swinging as a kid. This silhouette  is from Sweet and Sassy as is the sentiment. The leaves I stamped and cut out are from Stampin' Up.

CCEE2024 Father's Day

Father's Day in the USA falls on June 14th this year.  Make a Father's Day card.  If, your father has gone to his heavenly reward, make a masculine card of any type for any man in your life...son, grandson, nephew, boyfriend, etc.

I used a Stampin' Up sailboat for my card and I computer generated my sentiment. This was an easy and quick card because I am leaving town today for my first visit with my sister in parents since the quarantine so I had a lot to get done before leaving.

I am still fortunate that my 91 year old father is with us and still managing to live on his own with my mom and my sister who lives near by. We thank God for their health.

Use the keyword CCEE2024 if you load to SCS, and play along if you like. You can check out all the ways we are honoring father's on the CCEEStampers blog site you can find here.

Sunshine and retirement = things to be enjoyed!

Summertime is here and I was playing around with some beach sets making my own background papers today. So, decided to use this one for a card for a couple of the Saturday challenges I found:

The images in the background are old Stampin' Up stamps, and the retired fellow is from Artistic Impressions. Various Stampin' Up inks were used for the background, I stamped the image and sentiment in versafine black and colored the image with Copic markers.

Christmas Angel

I find it fun and more enjoyable to work on my Christmas cards all through out the year rather than waiting until the actual Christmas season arrives. So when I saw that the Double D challenge was to make a background using your stash of papers, I decided my Christmas scrap bag was the perfect one to visit this week. After arranging these scraps I decided on this angel image from Unity to add to the front. Since I left her mostly white, those background colors from all those Christmas paper scraps contrasted nicely. I love making beautiful things with even my scraps that are left over from previous projects. It reminds me of how my grandmother would use pieces of fabric left over from some of my mother's  (her daughter in law)  previous sewing projects for her quilts. It was fun finding those in these beautifully made quilts.I was fortunate to have these two talented ladies in my life, whose influences had a lot to do with my paper crafting.

Here is where you can find the double d challenge:

CCEE2023 - Roses

This is our first challenge for the month of June and the theme is roses. I used an old retired rose stamp from Stampin' Up, and not sure of the source for the sentiment. The sentiment is stamped with versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder.  I used design papers for the my background panels. I still love fussy cutting, so that is what  I did for my rose.  Please check out the lovely rose creations made by the other them members over on the CCEEStampers blog site which you can link to HERE

Little Red Wagon Challenge 552

This card was made for the Little Red Wagon challenge this week to create your own background. I used Simon Says ink pads to make my background using Unity stamps. Actually all stamps used on this card are from Unity Stamps. I colored the main image with copic markers and also the flowers in the background stamping.

You can find this challenge here:  http://lilredwagon.blogspot.com/2020/06/challenge-552-patterned-paper-or-create.html
