MIX335 and Retro Rubber challenge

I am entering this card in to the Splitcoaststampers' Mixed Media challenge today and also for this week's Retro Rubber challenge. This is an old Flourishes stamp that I thought I had lost and then I found it this week after a year of looking for it.  It is one of my favorites. I used chalk pastels for this card and Distress Oxide inks, versafine black for the image and the sentiment, and I painted the image with wet chalk pastels.  You can find the Retro Rubber challenge HERE.

CCEE 1926 National Catfish Day

Oops, I forgot to load my CCEE card on my blog this morning. So here it is.

We are doing Lois' last challenge of the month and it is honoring National Catfish Day. I did not have a catfist stamp, but I had this little silhouette of a little fisherman perhaps trying to catch that big catfish in this lake.

I used an old Flourish set and some of my favorite Distress Oxide inks to make this card.

Check out the other team members cards over on the CCEEStampers blog found HERE.www.cceestampers.blogspot.com

Simon Says Challenge Anything Goes

This is one of my favorite flower stamps in my stamp collection and it is from Stampendous.
I used design paper on one of them and turquoise paper for the other. I blended a little distress oxide ink around the centers.. I fussy cut the flowers, the leaves are a die. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and I embossed with white embossing powder. I am entering this in the  Simon Says  challenge this week.

CCEE1925 - National Pink Day

This Sunday (June 23) is National Pink Day. Easy challenge - make a pink card.

I love these stencils that my sister, Lynn gave me recently, and I used them for my background for this challenge.  I used distress oxide ink applied with make up brushes. They blend so beautifully, I stamped this SU rose onto design paper, and then I used a pink colored pencil to add some darker sections on my rose. The leaves are a Spellbinder die. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker. I loved that this was an easy challenge and I could make it a card that is very usable for me as I send  lots of encouragement cards out as I serve on the Care Team of my church.

CCEE1924 - National Sewing Machine Day

Lois here, continuing her month as hostess for the CCEE Stampers.  Today is National Sewing Machine Day, and she  asked the team to make a card with some stitching on it -- either actual stitching, faux stitching or stitch-edged dies.

So I have had this stamp in my collection for quite sometime as I found it on sale and have a mom who sews. I decided to do a distress oxide ink smash background, stamp the image in versafine black, and then I stamped some faux stitches to the top and bottom. Then I added the felt strip that had stitching on the edges and a birthday tag.

I will be gone the week that this challenge goes live, and serving a week at the UMCOR depot at Sager Brown in Baldwin, La. Hope you check out the CCEE blog that can be found HERE and check out the cards made by the team.

CCEE1923 Graduation

Hi, Lois here to start this month as hostess for the challenges.   This is the 60th anniversary of Lois' graduation from high school -- June 9, 1959.   So the challenge for the team this week is to make a card depicting their favorite subject in school.

My favorite subject in school was band. It was there that I learned not only to read music, play the flute, and in addition to that gave me a lifetime appreciation of music that has brought me many wonderful ways I have enjoyed using it. I learned to play the guitar on my own and have loved leading music over the last 20 years for Prison Ministry groups. The quote says, "Where words fail, music speaks."

Here is my card for the color throwdown this week. I used some left over backgrounds from my stash and stamped the flowers onto design paper, cut out and added with die cut cream leaves.

shopping our stash challenge 397 - Stencil me this

I just love the way my distress oxide inks work with stenciling as do my fabulous make up brushes I used to it. This was a recent one I made for the Shopping our Stash challenge #397
using  some Unity stamps to go along with it.

Got picked as a top 3 for Shoppin our stash.
