CCEE2113 Rainbow Day

 Hi Crafty Friends,

It's a brand new month which means it time to introduce our challenge hostess for the month, which is ...

 Frances Byrne.

Did you know that the 3rd of April is Find a Rainbow Day, For our challenge this week, include a rainbow of some type on your card either a rainbow image or rainbow colors … whichever you prefer.

Now let's take a look at what the Design Team created for this weeks challenge over on the CCEEstampers website.

I used a stencil from Gina Marie. I had used it to make another card, and the ink was still on it, so I spritzed it with water and then smashed it onto paper and this is the results I got. Then with a sun and radial patterned stencil from Gina K I add the sun and its rays. The Arc is a very old stamp as is the scripture stamp I used.

Details of challenge found here:

Here is my card made with a stamp from a set from Stampin' Up dated 2004. The sentiment is a scripture stamp that was probably the first stamp I ever purchased from Sweet and Sassy Stamps and probably one of my very first cleear cling stamps. I used oxide inks to water color the rainbow and paint the background. I used copic markers to color the girl and flowers.. Versafine black ink was used to stamp the image and the sentiment.

Make the Card Challenge #7 - Masculine

Masculine cards are sometimes a real challenge but this digital image from Power Poppy is so perfect for the baseball lovers in my family. I love digital images because it gives you the abilibity to size it to the size you would like. I sized this a little bigger than I had thought but made it into a 6 by 6 inch card.  This is for the Make the Card challenge #7 to make a masculine card. You can find the details to the challenge here:

https://makethecardschallenge.com/make-the-cards-challenge-9/

I used Copic markers to color the image, and kraft cardstock for the cardbase. The background is design paper from Doodlebug Design Inc. The die frames are by Sizzix.

Twofer Challenge #36

The challenge on the Twofer Card Challenge this week is a "Your Choice" and since I live in Texas and spring is arriving , bluebonnets are my favorite part of springtime in Texas. I used a retired Stampin' Up stamp to make my blue bonnets. One card I made an any occasion card, and one is a thinking of you card. The sentiment on the card on the left is from Deadbeat Designs, which was a Texas based rubber stamp company that has recently gone out of business. I miss them and their unique and wonderful designs that featured some of Texas' unique characteristics and attitudes that we Texans tend to have.

The sentiment on the card on the right is from Stampin' Up as well. The background texture is made using a Hero Arts stamp.

Here is where you can find this challenge:

It's beginning to feel like spring around my part of the world, and the Allsorts Challenge inspired me to make a spring inspired card using YELLOW. This image is from Unity Stamps and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Gina K. I robbed all the design papers from my stash, and  used a pretty shade of yellow for my base card.

I love finding challenges to do during the week because they get my mojo going. I also like making at least one Christmas card a week too. Krafty Chicks 549 Stamp Act

This is for the Krafty Chicks' Challenge this week - Stamp Act! This image is from Unity Stamps. I colored it with Copic markers. The sentiment is a die cut. You can find the details for this challenge here:

Seize the Birthday Challenge #209

March is here and of course this is when the greens of nature come back into existance. I love spring. This background stamp is from Rubbernecker and I used probably about 4 different colors of green when I added the inks. The girls are from Unity stamps, and the sentiment is from Gina K. I am a very ecclectic stamper and when I find an image I love it really doesn't matter to me what company retails it. I want it, I get it! And then it is fun mixing them with other stamps from my collection, which I have accummulated over the past 20 years. Now that I am retired and have the time to enjoy them, I spend most of my day creating in my stamp room. I also like finding challenges I can find during the week that spurs my mojo!! This one I am making for the Seize the Birthday challenge to use 3 shades of green. You can find all the details here:

I used at least 3 shades of Distress Oxide inks by Tim Holtz and Range. I colored the image with copic markers.  Happy Birthday to all my friends with spring birthdays!!

Fab n' Funky 513 Kraft

I love using colored pencils on kraft paper, It just seems to pop in color. This is the first time this stamp (from Hampton Arts) has seen ink and I have probably had it for over a year. I paper pieced her top and have been anxious to use this design paper. Now that life is getting a little more spring like, I used it for today's card.  You can find the details of this challenge of using kraft as the theme can be found here:

CCEE2109 - Old Stuff

 Hi Crafty Friends,

It's a brand new month, which means a brand new challenge hostess. This month our hostess is  Frances Byrne.

Apparently the 2nd March was Old Stuff Day, for our challenge this week let's combine something older (stamps, dies etc) with something newish.

Now let's take a look at the cards our Design Team created for this week's challenge over on the CCEEStampers blogsite HERE,

The flower pots and sentiment were stamped with one of my newest SU stamps and the plant I stamped in them are from a very old stamp set from Stampin' Up. Stenciling is a newer technique for me so I used it for my newer look. The photo is a great vintage photo from Tim Holtz's paper doll collection. I used a yellow copic marker and a peach copic marker to color on parts of the photo. It reminded me of the old black and white photos from over 70 years ago that my mother colored with some kind of special alcohol ink to add a little color to the skin tones on those old black and white photos. The old saying "Everything old is new again" comes to mind for me for this fun challenge. Some of the old things from the past are very special and how fun it is to put them together with some of the newer tools and techniques now available!

Try it on Tuesday Challenge - say it with flowers

I love making card backgrounds with left over design papers. This is one that I had set aside and decided today that this burlap heart with flowers and a Unity girl would be nice additions to it. Since the girl had flowers in her hair as well, I thought it fit the challenge well. You can find the details for this challenge here:

https://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com/2021/03/say-it-with-flowers.html

Crafty Hazelnut New Christmas Challenge 531- vintage or shabby chic

I love stamps that remind me of sisters and this sweet vintage stamp does just that. I had this fancy gold corner left over from another project, so thought it looked awesome with this Christmas plaid. Finding a sentiment the size I needed was a challenge and thought I would just write it in cursive to make go along with the vintage look. I am entering this card in the Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge this week, You can find the details for the challenge here:

http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.blogspot.com/2021/02/chnc-challenge-531.html

I colored the image with copic markers, The plaid paper is mounted on a black card base. I am not sure of the source of the stamp. I have had it for quite some time before I started  documentations for my organization of stamps.
