Try it on Tuesday - Embossing

I am on a mission to make a pile of wedding cards and thought this was the perfect challenge to use for one of my cards.  So this is for the Try it on Tuesday challenge to use embossing, I used a 3D embossing folder by Sizzix. The stamp I used is from Unity stamps. I mounted the card front to black paper. The paper border is from some scrapbook borders I had in my stash. I added white pearls just to add a little elegance to it all.
You can find the details of the challenge here:

Tuesday Morning Sketch 745

I quarter turned this sketch for my card. I used a stamp from Unity Stamps for the verse and used espresso distressed oxide ink. The plaid paper is design paper from my scrap pile. I used a Sizzix oval die and a Sizzix flower die with Sizzix leaves die as well. The centers of the flowers are pearl embellishments. I thought this would make a great Easter card for the upcoming season.

Can you handle the pressure? Rainbows

I started with white paper, embossed it with a 3-D Sizzix embossing folder, then with blending brushes I added the rainbow colors using Distress Oxide inks. The little unicorn stamp is from Stampabilities. I punched some butterflies using a Martha Stewart punch using some scraps of design paper from my work table. I added some wink of Stella over the unicorn to give it a little bit of a sparkle! I know lots of little girls who would love this card.

Details of the challenge can be found here:

Find Joy in the Ordinary

I love finding Christmas challenges to take part in during the year, as it builds my Christmas stash during a less hectic time of the year, and these challenges provide the motivation I need to be inspired even out of season. This card I am using for two Christmas challenges going on this week. They are listed below:

and the other is here:

My card was embossed with a Sizzix 3 D folder, then inked over by rubbing  antique linen over the stones. This is one of my oldest stamps in my collection of Christmas stamps. It is from PSX 1995.
It is colored with Copic markers. I added a organdy ribbon up the side.

 Hi Crafty Friends,

It's Frances back this week with another challenge for you.

Now let's take a look at our Design Team's creations.

I used dies from Gina Marie (heart), Impression Obsessions (sentiment and yellow flowers) and Sizzix (flowers and leaves),

CCEE2142 Numbers

 Hi Crafty Friends,

It's Frances here again to bring you another challenge.

Number It .... Include a number or numbers on your creations this week. You can make an aged birthday card; number themed designer paper, number themed embossing folders or dies. Anything goes as long as there is a number somewhere!

Let's take a look at what our Design Team created this week.

Check out the CCEEstampers blogsite.

This is an image from Art Impressions. The sentiment is from Stampendous. I used some Tim Holtz  blackout idea-ology paper to emboss with the numbers and then I sanded off the black to reveal the kraft color underneath. I colored the image with copic markers. Inside I added the words:
"Afterall, it's just a number!" I mounted this onto a kraft card base.

I have had this little die set for awhile and have never made a card with it, but it just seemed fitting for this challenge. The sentiment is a Sizzix die and the jar die set is from Momenta. The zig zag border punch is from Martha Stewart. You can find the details for the challenge here:

The Falling Leaves

Fall seems to be in the air, and so do fall challenges. So I made this one for the Alphabet Challenge this week to use L is for leaves. It also fits the Inkspiration challenge of autumn leaves and the Three Room Studio challenge to use vellum.
Here are the sites for the challenges so you can check out the details for these fabulous challenges:

First I made the blended colors of distressed oxide inks on white cardstock. Then I ran it through my embossing folder ( a leafy one). Next I used my sanding block to rub off the ink from the raised parts of the embossing. I die cut some vellum leaves with a sizzix die. The ovals are also from Sizzix. A added red dew drops for berries. The sentiment is one I stamped using one of my sister's stamps while I was visiting her, and unfortunately I failed to record the source. It is nice to have a sister who shares this passion with rubber stamping with and together we have a fabulous collection of supplies over the past 20 years.

Time Out Challenge 188

Here is the challenge that I made this card for :

I used dry embossing on my card because this folder reminds me off a metal plant holder I have on my wall that I have filled with ferns and dogwoods for spring. For my card I stamped my flowers and leaves with distressed oxide inks using Rubber Tapestry peg stamps. They are so fun. Then over it all I stamped my sentiment from Gina K designs.  The embossing folder was from Sizzix.

CCEE2116 Tea Day

Frances is back today with another fun challenge for you all.

Apparently the 21st April was Tea Day, create a card that features tea or coffee.

Let's take a look at what the Design Team created for this challenge.

I used a Sizzix die for the lacy corner, a stamp from Unity for the image, and a sentiment from Gina Marie. The lacy stamp I am not sure of the source but thought it tied into the theme and style of this card. The flowers are a Sizzix die as well.. I used the smashed disress oxide ink to stain the ivory background cardstock. The card base is dark brown.

Crafty Catz Challenge - dry or wet embossing

This card was made using the Crafty Catz challenge as my motivation this morning. I had just bought some Tim Holtz's Ideology Blackout kraft pad which I dry embossed with a Sizzix 3.D embossing lace folder and then I sanded the black off to reveal the kraft paper underneath. Then I added the Tim Holtz paper dolls. With the flip side of the paper, which is kraft, I punched out my letters for SISTER. Then with another kraft scrap I stamped a Gina K birthday sentiment onto it and distressed the edges.

You can find the details for this challenge here:

Festive Friday Challenge #0074

I made this card for the Festive Friday Challenge today. I was to pick 3 things from the list that is found on this:

So, I used holly, red, green, and peace. I embossed the white background, stamped the dove with versamark ink, added silver embossing powder, then die cut the dove, holly, and peace. I also added some die cut evergreen behind my dove. The final embellishment were the tiny metal sets that were silver that I colored red with my copic marker so it would look like little red berries on the cyress branches. This stamp and die set is from Sizzix.
