Thank you notes and seamless spotlighting

I made this card to use in 3 challenges this week: On SCS Lydia left us a wonderful video to demonstrate using this seamless spotlighting technique for the Mixed Media challenge over on Splitccoaststampers.  I needed a few thank you cards for this time of the year, so I made it into a thank  you card and decided to link it to the Alphabet Challenge T is for thank you, and thee Sweet stampin' challenge this week whose theme was thank you cards. My background stamp is from Impression Obsessions, and I used Versafine clair black ink, picket fence distress oxide ink for shading the bottom layer, and alcohol markers for the coloring part of the spotlighting technique. I used rust cardstock as the cardbase and as the paper for the die cut, which is from Sizzix.

 

Use Your Stuff 489

This is one of my newest stamps set designed by Gina K. The sentiment is from Pink Fresh. I colored the three blossoms with copic markers and then used colored pencils for highlights on the image. The background was done with a background stamp from Impression Obsessions and a stencil from Gina K. I used green distressed oxide inks for this. I used versafine clair black for the sentiment.

Double D - Hearts

Valentines are some of my favorite cards to make during the year, so doing the Double D challenge today to use hears, is helping me get my stash ready for the special day. I used a stencil by "A Colorful life" for my background done with distress oxide ink. The mouse is from Sweet and Sassy and the sentiment is from Impression Obsessions.. The little added sparkles were a bonus gift sent with my stencil order from ACLD. You can find the details of this challenge here:

Sisterhhood of crafters challenge - butterflies, dragonflies, and bees

I used lots of different stamped and embossed layers on this card. I made it with dragonflies and a butterfly to meet the criteria of this week's Sisterhood of crafters that can be found here:

I used two stencils by A Colorful Life in my background one with distress oxide ink blended in and the other(the dragonflies) with versamark ink and then covered with ultra thick clear embossing powder. The did an embossing resist technique using an Impression Obsession background stamp, Then I added a script Stampin' Up background stamp using versamark ink again, and this time added gold metallic embossing powder over it. The final touch was the butterfly from Our Daily Bread (now Divinity Stamps), coloring it with copic markers and putting a layer of sparkle gel pen over the wings for a final shimmer. 

 

CAS on Friday - Silhouettes

 I love cards with silhouettes and have a great number of silhouette stamps and dies. This one is using a die from Impression Obsessions. I blended the blue on with a blending brush with broken china distress oxide ink, and using the same ink I stamped the dots for snow. The sentiment is stamped in versafine clair black using a stamp from Unity.

I made this card for the As You See it Challenge this week with an oldie but favorite of my stamps. This set came as a trio of these fine vintage ladies and is a set from Hampton Art Stamps. The sentiment is from Gina Marie designs. I did the background stamping of the card base and panel with background stamps from Impression Obsessions. I added a few die cut flowers and some punched leaves for embellishments and also enamel dots for the flower centers. 

 

Color Throwdown Challenge #700

I loved these colors for this week's color throwdown challenge. I made my smashed orange background with the left over rusty hinge distress oxide ink that was left on my glass work area that I spritzed water on. Then I added walnut stain doxi ink onto my Impression Obsession background stamp that I stamped in various places over the smashed ink. I tore some kraft paper from an recycled kraft envelope to add for the kraft. I used one of my new momenta border dies that was cut from design papers that had these colors in it. I stamped the sunflowers from Unity onto white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.The sentiment from Impression Obsessions with versafine clair black. Then I mounted it on a morning marigold card base. 

 

Color Throwdown Challlenge #697

I decided to make this one fun summery card with these colors from the Color Throwdown challenge this week:

I used an Impression Obsession background stamp with aqua, orange and pink distress oxide inks on it. I spritzed it with water and then put my white paper down. The cute images are from Inkadinkado, stamped them with Versafine Clair black, and then used colored pencils to color the images.

C.R.A.F.T. #635 Christmas

 

I am so happy to get to participate in the C.R.A.F.T. Christmas challenges as they have this this theme once a month. I helps me to get my Christmas cards done in a timely fashion.. This one was fun to make using old paper scraps that I could not part with and made this background a while back. Today I added the focal point which is aa die from Impression Obsessions cut from green foil cardstock. The sentiment is a stamp I got in one of my grab bags from Impression Obsessions as well. I love "grab bags" because you never know what goodies you will find. I think that is better than buying lottery tickets which usually for me is nothing to show for my money, where for my $5 grab bag, I probably got about a dozen or so stamps.

HMFMC 361

I love making my own background so the twist on this challenge was one well taken. First I started with a retiform layered background of distress oxide inks. Then I added a background stamp from Impression Obsessions over the retiform layer with a darker pink distress oxide ink. I stamped the mouse image onto white paper, colored with copic markehttp://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/2022/03/hmfmc-361-mid-way-reminder-always.htmls and cut out and glued onto the front. The sentiment and the mouse image were stamped with versafine Clair black ink. I mounted this onto a yellow card base.

Make the Card challenge 42

I used a background stamp with the words of 'Twas the Night before Christmas on it. This stamp is from Rubbernecker, I used red distress oxide ink for the stamping. I used an Inpressioon Obsession die for the tree and birds. The embellishing was done with mini rhinestones on the tree, and  I did this card for the Make this Card challenge. The challenge was to make use of a background stamp.

CCEE2146 Buffalo Plaid

 

Hi friends!

It's Kelly with your challenge this week.

I absolutely adore black and white buffalo plaid (also known as buffalo check)

so please create a card with buffalo plaid as your focal point.

Sorry, Kelly, the only buffalo print paper I had was turquoise, so I went with that. The stamp is from Rubbernecker. The sentiment die is from Impression Obsessions, and the pine might be as well. Not sure on that die. I colored the image with copic markers. I used a sparkle pen to accent the snowflake and the sugar sprinkles on the cookies and on the pine to give it an icy look.

Jingle Bell challenge - Not a creature was stirring

 

Here is my card for the Jingle Bell Challenge this week that has the theme - Not a Creatrure was Stirring.

I used this cute Penny Black stamp with this cute pig and I used my new Impression Obsessions slimline background stamp for the background. The trees were cut with a Momenta die out of dark green paper..  The sentiment is from Paper Trey Inc. I used two shades of my distress oxide inks for the background and I used copic markers for the coloring of the pig image.

TGIF339 Alcohol blending

 

I have not gotten my alcohol inks out in a while, so with the alcohol blend challenge going today for the TGIF 339 challenge, I decided to give it a go. This cat stamp is a new one I just got recently from Impression Obsessions and hadn't used yet. So I stamped it with versafine black ink on white paper and fussy cut it to use on this background that I did using Yupo paper. The butterflies were punched using colorful scraps with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch.  I mounted this on a black cardstock card base.

CAS Christmas - grey and red

 

I made this card for the grey and red color challenge that is happening this week over on the CAS Christmas challenge that can be found here:

I used stamps from Impression Obsessions and a sentiment stamp from an old retired Stampin' Up set. 

I stamped the ribbon stamp with versafine black, and colored it with copic markers. The trees were done with distress oxide ink. The sentiment is stamped over them in versafine black. This ribbon stamp is a great surprise I found in my grab bag I had ordered from IO. It looks like the real thing and will be great making easy to mail, flat cards for this Christmas season. 

Just Us Girls 602

Using the colors of the Just Us Girls challenge this week of red, orange, and yellow, I also used the theme of butterflies that was the challenge on Mod Squad. You can find the details of these challenges here:

I used a stencil to do part of the background and the other part was done with an Impression Obsessions background stamp for the other part. The buttterflies are from a retired Stampin' Up set and the sentiment is from a TH's Idea-o-logy pad. I used distress oxide inks for the stenciling and background. I used versafine black and copic markers for the butterflies. 
 

Jingle Belles Tic Tac Toe Challenge

 

It's that time to get started on my Christmas card stash, and the Jingle Belles tic tac toe challenge looked like a fun way to get motivated, So  I used the line with Santa, die cut, and gold as the elements for this card. The diecut is from Spellbinder, and the background stamp is from Impression Obsessions. Santa was a part of this silhouetted set. I am not sure of the source for the sentiment, and I added little gold gemstones for the ornaments on the tree. You can find the details for the Jingle Belles tic tac toe challenge here:

Just Add Ink 571 - Just Add Lines

 

The challenge over on Just Use Ink this week looked like fun. We were to use lines. So I did a little scoring and I used some striped washi tape to make two bold lines in the corner. This girl image is from Impression Obsessions and the plants and pots are from Rubber Tapestry peg stamps. I used distress oxide inks for the tapestry stamps. I used versfine black for the IO image and colored pencils to color it.  You can find the details for the challenge here:

It's Frances here again this week and she has another fun challenge for us all.

 Apparently today is Photography Day. For our challenge this week include something on your card that is photographic related … a photo/photos; images of photos, cameras etc. 

Now let's take a look at what our Design Team created for this challenge.

Using distressed oxide ink, I stamped my background using an Impression Obsessions. Using a darker green distress oxide ink, I used  background stamp from Stampabilites. Then the darker green dots were stenciled on with a stencil from A Colorful Life. I stamped the sentiment in versafine black. I added one off Tim Holtz's vintage photo paper dolls for my photo image. The flower is a die from Impression Obsessions, I added a few small punched white flowers and used pearls for all the flower centers.
