Butterfly on an originally designed background

This card is meeting the criteria of two challenges this week and they are:

and because I made my own background paper for this card it also qualified for the Craft Rocket challenge here:

Here are the details of this card: The background was made with A Colorful Life stencils and distress oxide inks. Then I stamped a Gina K flower from a set that came from Unity in versafine black over that, also a text stamp was used fom Bo Bunny, and the main focus is the layer butterfly stamp that is from Hero Art, as is the sentiment. I used Distress Ink on the layering of  the butterfly. I mounted all of this onto a light blue card base.

Try it on Tuesday - Santa Claus is coming to Town

This is one of my favorite of my Santa stamps that came from Rubber Stampede that I have had for years. Today I used it on a stenciled background blended with distress oxide fired brick ink. I mounted the Santa on two different design papers for a mat. I punched bows with a Martha Stewart punch out of the red design paper print. The gold foil paper I cut using a die cut for the sentiment. (Not sure of the source of tat die.) I used alcohol marker to color Santa. The card base is red cardstock.

I am entering this card in this week's Try it on Tuesday challenge and you can find the details and link here: https://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com/2024/12/santa-claus-is-coming-to-town.html

I am also using this the the Cut it Up challenge which is hosting a Christmas
in July theme since I used dies for the trees and the gnome. The details for this challenge can be found here:

I used the cloud stencil from A Colorful Life for the background sky by blending distress oxide inks. The gnome is a stamp and die set that came from Rubbernecker. The tree dies are from Momenta.

Jingle Belle Blog banner challenge

The challenge for the Jingle Belles this week was to use their blog banner as a source of inspiration. So I was inspired by the pink, the trees, and the sparkle on the trees. I stenciled a triangular pattern onto some printed design paper. I added this white silhouette of a tree and some forest animals as the main focus, and added pearls as snowflakes. I added some sparkly Nuvo to the tree to add a little glisten. I decided I would use pink ink on the sentiment as well. You can find the Jingle Belle challenge linky here:

I am seriously card making now for the rest of my Christmas cards. I try to do these challenges and others during to year to keep me with a pretty good stash to begin with but now it will be strictly Christmas cards that I will be creating.

I made this card for the Use Your Stuff Challenge - 3 items in one cluster. You can find the details for this challenge here:

BYSHC Linky Party

I have been needing to get started on Christmas cards and this Linky Party is a real motivation for me. Thanks, Ladies. I stenciled my card with a Gina K stencil using distress oxide inks and this digital is from Angie Blom Digitals that I had ordered last Christmas season. I used distress oxide ink blended for the sky. This is CAS design and an easy to mail card for next Christmas. Thanks again BYSHC for this fun event. It is helping get my mojo going so that I can get a number of these seasonal cards made months ahead.

CAS on Friday

This is my CAS on Friday card for the insect challenge. I used a dragonfly stencil from "A Colorful Life." The arches are from a part of another stencil from "A colorful life." The stamps are from Stampendous. The stenciling was done with distress oxide ink, The stamping was done with black Versafine Clair. This is a one layer card, and quick and easy card to make. That makes it a CAS in my book.

Crafty Hazelnut Christmas challenge - H is for Holy Family

I made this card for the  Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge to use some thing that starts with H so I used the Holy family and their Halos. I used a piece of white paper that was embossed with a 3D embossing folder from Sizzix. Then I stenciled over it with my brand new star stencil from A Colorful Life, using blue distress oxide ink. I really love the way it turned out.  I used silver chrome paper and black cardstock for the die.

CCEE2233 - Pluto Demoted Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's Frances here again with our last challenge for the month, thank you to all of you who played along this week.

According to the Days of the Year web site, yesterday 24th August was Pluto Demoted Day, this day marks the occasion in 2006 when Pluto was demoted from being a planet to a dwarf planet. For our challenge today, create a card that has a space theme.

Now let's take a peek at our Design Team's creations. HERE

I used the distress oxide ink smash technique for my background. I added sequin stars, and some Sizzix dies. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz idea-o-logy that I altered the ending of.
The sentiment says:  "Not only does my mind wander...sometimes it"
and here is the altered part, I wrote as the conclusion of this statement:
"drifts into outer space."

The sentiment is stamped in versafine clair black using a stamp from Unity.

Double D Challenge - use white and one color

I love collecting stamps, stencils, and dies from all sorts of sources as there are so many great companies out there offering such a beautiful variety of things. I love mixing them together to see what I can create. That is exactly what I did here. I used Broken China distress oxide ink for my color. choice. I used a Gina K stencil using the Broken China ink/ I used a Sweet and Sassy background texture with versamark ink and white embossing powder to bring out the white off my card. I cut a Sizzix flower die from white cardstock. I added the turquoise flower sequins with pearl centers as an embellishment. The sentiment iss from a Tim Holtz Idea-o-logy pad.

BYSHC Linky Party

How excited I was to run across this fabulous Linky Party that you can find here:

I stamped with distress oxide ink this green pine needle stamp from Unity Stamps. I used Versafine clair black in to stamp the ornament also from Unity stamps. Both of these were stamp on a piece of Graphics 45 design paper. The other papers in the background are from Graphics 45 as well. I colored the flowers and leaves on the ornament with colored pencils. I mounted this on black cardstock and then used a black cardstock cardbase. I used gold chrome cardstock to die cut the sentiment from a Sizzix Christmas die cut set.

Can you handle pressure? with a twist of Easter

This is one of my favorite techniques to use with my embossing folders. I ink the indented inside part of the folder so that the background turns out the color of the ink. In this case I use Robin Egg distress oxide ink. I die cut a cross and flowers out of white. Added tiny rhinestones for the centers of the flowers. I tied a matching ribbon up the side.

CCE2213 "No Housework Day"

 April 7, 2022 CCEE2213 –

Hi, Liz Williams here for the April challenges for CCEE.

Let’s celebrate “NO HOUSEWORK DAY” by spending the day in our stamp rooms celebrating by doing a “Free for All” card theme of your choice. Have fun!!

Check out all these great ideas our design team has created for this challenge over on the blog site:

http://www.cceestampers.blogspot.com

I promise I did not make this up, but it sounds like a day I really can celebrate. Any excuse to be in the stamproom is a great day for me!! Today I made this card and getting to play with some new stamps that just arrived in the mail yesterday from Sweet and Sassy! So here is the card I made with two of my new stamp sets and an old Sunflower stamp that is ancient. I watercolored some of the background stamping with the same blue distressed oxide ink with which I had stamped the image. That takes a little more time but water coloring is very relaxing for me.

Tic Tac Toe #155

I made this card using the Tic Tac Toe challenge #155 this week. I used flowers, embossing, and sympathy card. The 3 D embossing folder is from Sizzix, the tulip stamp is from Unity, and the sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly. The images were stamped in Versafine Clair Black ink, and the tulips were colored with Copic markers. I used the new saltwater taffy distress oxide ink for the stenciling.
