BYSHC spring to Christmas Linky Party

I try to make Christmas cards all throughout the year so I can get them all done before December. I make over 60 individual designs (no 2 exactly alike) so I am always excited when the BYSCH spring to Christmas Linky party is going on. What a great motivation for me and what wonderful ideas are generated for the event! So here is a card I made this morning to link to their party. It was made using a Gina K designs cross die, and a Gina Marie design nativity die. I loved this fancy paper I found in my stash as I wanted it to be in mostly neutral colors. The "blessed" die is from Impression  Obsessions. As you can see I am a huge fan of many of our wonderful crafting companies out  there and I try to support as many as I can on my fixed retirement income. LOL. I hope you will go over and see what all is happening over on the BYSHC spring to Christmas Linky party.

BYSHC Linky Party

I have been needing to get started on Christmas cards and this Linky Party is a real motivation for me. Thanks, Ladies. I stenciled my card with a Gina K stencil using distress oxide inks and this digital is from Angie Blom Digitals that I had ordered last Christmas season. I used distress oxide ink blended for the sky. This is CAS design and an easy to mail card for next Christmas. Thanks again BYSHC for this fun event. It is helping get my mojo going so that I can get a number of these seasonal cards made months ahead.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #477

This card was made for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #477 this week. I used some double sided design paper for my strips, so I flipped on to show the reverse side. I used two Gina K stamps for this card, and a die cut (which I am not sure of the source). I watercolored the flower and leaves with distress oxide inks, and used distress oxide inks to stamp the splattered background on the white panel.

Make my Monday challenge - plaids and checks

I made this card for the Make My Monday challenge, which is to use checks or plaids. I loved these colors I found on a plaid design sheet I found in my stash. The stamps are from Gina K. I watercolored the flowers with distress oxide inks that matched the colors in the plaid.  The stamping was done in Ranger Archival Ink (black). I am part of the card team at my church, which includes praying for and sending cards to those shut in, those who are sick, or those who are struggling with life's challenges. These kind of cards are my most needed.

Just Us Girls Challenge 579

I am very eclectic in buying my craft supplies. I used two stencils from two different companies the plaid is from Stamplorations and the snowflake is from Gina K. The image I used and sentiment is from Unity. I also like to make my Christmas cards during the entire year, so I decided to make this one a Christmas/winter card. The inks I used for my stenciling are distress oxide inks from Tim Holtz. The image and sentiment are stamped using versafine black ink. I colored the image with Copic markers.

I had a grandmother who quilted and stenciled back in the 1950s and 1960s. Stencils were a little different then, and she used fabric instead of paper and paints instead of inks. I have been so fascinated using these new designs and methods as part of my paper crafting.

I was excited to see the challenge today for Just Us Girls to make use of more than one stencil. This particular pairing I had not tried before, But I like how it turned out.  Hope you do too.  You can find the details of the challenge here:

Allsorts Challenge 614 Use yellow

It's beginning to feel like spring around my part of the world, and the Allsorts Challenge inspired me to make a spring inspired card using YELLOW. This image is from Unity Stamps and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Gina K. I robbed all the design papers from my stash, and  used a pretty shade of yellow for my base card.

Seize the Birthday Challenge #209

March is here and of course this is when the greens of nature come back into existance. I love spring. This background stamp is from Rubbernecker and I used probably about 4 different colors of green when I added the inks. The girls are from Unity stamps, and the sentiment is from Gina K. I am a very ecclectic stamper and when I find an image I love it really doesn't matter to me what company retails it. I want it, I get it! And then it is fun mixing them with other stamps from my collection, which I have accummulated over the past 20 years. Now that I am retired and have the time to enjoy them, I spend most of my day creating in my stamp room. I also like finding challenges I can find during the week that spurs my mojo!! This one I am making for the Seize the Birthday challenge to use 3 shades of green. You can find all the details here:

I used at least 3 shades of Distress Oxide inks by Tim Holtz and Range. I colored the image with copic markers.  Happy Birthday to all my friends with spring birthdays!!

Sweet Stampin' Love

I did this card for two challenges: the MIX418 challenge  on Splitcoaststampers found here:

https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/mix-ability-challenge-f390/mix-418-junket-t637180.html

and the Sweet Stampin' Challenge with the theme of Love this week that can be found here:

http://sweetstampinchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2021/01/sweet-stampin-love.html

I used multi-media on this, I used a recycled magazine page for my hearts, stamped with versamark ink and then covered with gold embossing powder to heat emboss going for a faux cloisonne  look, the background was speckled using a Gina K texture stamp using red, pink, and purple distress oxide inks. For embellishment I added the red sticker hearts from Paper Studio. A quick and easy Valentine was my intent.

I also got to use some of my old favorites stamps from years past that make wonderful Valentines no matter how long they have stored in my Valentine tub waiting for their turn to be inked.

I made this card for the Festive Friday for celebrating the International Day of Friendship which is July 30th.   I chose to use pink, polka dots, green, a flower, and a friendship sentiment.  This is a pretty easy card all stamped onto the design paper and then colored with copic markers. This is an easy to mail card as well being with extra layers, etc.  The stamps are from Gina K.

Another card for the Double D challenge

Trying out some layered stenciling on this card and decided to go with the purple and lavender theme that Double D has going this week.  I used my great art makeup brushes to blend the ink onto these stencils and of course, I used those wonderful distress oxide inks. I stamped the sentiment, which is a set from Gina K in versafine black ink. I love that this is a one layer and easy to mail card without any lumps or bumps that cost extra postage.  Again, the link to the Double D challenge is :

Sketch A2920

I always love finding sketch ideas that help me use up scraps from my scrap binds. This stamp was one that I won from Repeat Impressions  probably over a year or so ago. It is such a sweet image and wanted to use it on this sketch challenge this week over on their blog site here:

I used copic markers to color the image and the sentiment is from Gina K designs,

CCEE2006 white embossing on kraft

It's a brand new month.  Anne Harmon is our hostess for the month of February with challenges for our team.

White embossing is beautiful on neutral colors.  Anne's  challenge is to use white embossing on a card, using Kraft, or any other shade of brown.

This has become one of my favorite combos for embossing. For this card I used an old Stampin' Up background stamp, inked it with versamark ink, and covered it with white embossing powder.  Then I used distress oxide ink trying to match the kraft color for the sentiment, which is from Gina K designs.. I failed to read that the card was to be done in only kraft and browns, so I had added touches of red. I know that is one of Anne's favorite colors, so maybe she will be forgiving.
