The Card Concept #182a

I made this card for the Splitcoaststampers' Sketch challenge #928 and the Card Concept challenge (182 a)  This is one of my newest stamps purchased from Unity. I love paper piecing as a technique and this comfort stuffed chair and pillow is just the perfect technique for it. The tree in the window is from Stampin' Up. I used copic markers to color the outdoor scene.

Sisterhhood of crafters challenge - butterflies, dragonflies, and bees

I used lots of different stamped and embossed layers on this card. I made it with dragonflies and a butterfly to meet the criteria of this week's Sisterhood of crafters that can be found here:

I used two stencils by A Colorful Life in my background one with distress oxide ink blended in and the other(the dragonflies) with versamark ink and then covered with ultra thick clear embossing powder. The did an embossing resist technique using an Impression Obsession background stamp, Then I added a script Stampin' Up background stamp using versamark ink again, and this time added gold metallic embossing powder over it. The final touch was the butterfly from Our Daily Bread (now Divinity Stamps), coloring it with copic markers and putting a layer of sparkle gel pen over the wings for a final shimmer.

I used the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge this week to make this card. I did some stenciling using baja breeze, Pacific pointe, and lovely lavender Stampin' Up ink, The stamping is done in Versafine Clair black, and I blended the lavender onto the flower with a blending brush. The leaves were stamped in the baja breeze ink and Pacific pointe ink. The sentiment is from Stamploration, the flower is from Stanpendous, the leaves are from Stampin' Up and the script is from American Crafts.

CCEE2214 Look Up at the sky day

It's Liz back for our second challenge for April. 

 – It’s "look up at the sky day.”  So recreate something you love as a beautiful part of God’s huge canvas (maybe a starry night, a bright rainbow, sunrises or sunsets, or beautiful cloud formations. )

I have used a Hero Arts stamp for the sea and sentiment, a Stampendous set for the sailboats and seagulls,  and an SU geometric stamp for the sun. I used the cloud stencil from A Colorful Life. Distress oxide inks provided all the colors for the sea and sky and Versafine Clair for the sentiment and the sailboats and seagulls.

I used an oldie but goodie  French Script background stamp from Stampin' Up for the background. I added these cherry blossoms from an old Flourishes set designed by Maracella Hawley. The pink ink on the background is the new Tim Holtz Saltwater Taffy distress oxide pad,  and the images were stamped using Versafine Clair Black.  The Eiffel Tower and sentiment are scrapbook embellishments. 

Jingle Bell challenge - Not a creature was stirring

 

Here is my card for the Jingle Bell Challenge this week that has the theme - Not a Creatrure was Stirring.

I used this cute Penny Black stamp with this cute pig and I used my new Impression Obsessions slimline background stamp for the background. The trees were cut with a Momenta die out of dark green paper..  The sentiment is from Paper Trey Inc. I used two shades of my distress oxide inks for the background and I used copic markers for the coloring of the pig image.

Just Us Girls 602

Using the colors of the Just Us Girls challenge this week of red, orange, and yellow, I also used the theme of butterflies that was the challenge on Mod Squad. You can find the details of these challenges here:

I used a stencil to do part of the background and the other part was done with an Impression Obsessions background stamp for the other part. The buttterflies are from a retired Stampin' Up set and the sentiment is from a TH's Idea-o-logy pad. I used distress oxide inks for the stenciling and background. I used versafine black and copic markers for the butterflies. 
 

Color Throwdown 650 and Mod Squad challenges

This is for the Color Throwdown challenge this week to use gray, yellow and black. .

I used gray and yellow distress oxide inks for the stamped background. The large background stamp I used was from Impression Obsessions.  Over this I stamped an old SU background stamp with versafine black. I stamped the cross (from Unity) onto white cadstock colored it with copic markers and fussy cut it to add to the background. I punched small flowers with a Martha Stewart flower punch out of vellum and added to the cross. I added white glittery enamel dots on the cross.

June 20 is National Eagle Day in the USA so let’s celebrate this national symbol.

It’s a time set aside raise awareness about the bald eagle

and to preserve the bird's natural habitat.

Please use an eagle (or bird if you don't have an eagle) on your card/project

to celebrate this winged treasure!

For my card I  first used an old favorite SU background stamp I have had for years as the background. Then I inked up an embossing folder that had stripes with blue distressed oxide ink. I ran it through my Big Shot and with my fabulous blending brushes added the red. I cut my eagle silhouette out of black paper using one of the patterns on my Cricut Joy. I punched out the silver stars and glued them on. The eagle has dimensionals behind him. This is going to be a great card to send someone for the 4th of July.

Seashells sing a song for me

 

I love the beach in summertime, and seashells are part of the fascination for me. When I saw this challenge over on the Fusion website, I knew it was a "must do" for me. I used some design papers from my stash, I stamped shells from an older SU set I have in my collection, the sentiment is one of my favorites from Unity, and the cute little crab die is from Gina Marie.  I sponged the color onto the shell and satrfish with distress oxide inks. CAS on Friday - The colour green

 I love CAS cards because they can be made so quickly. So I used the new Plentiful Plants by Stampin' Up that included the stamps and dies I used. I used a stencil to stencil a small background and used mowed lawn distressed oxide ink on the stenciling,  The sentiment is from Stampendous. Paper Players CAS polka dots

Here is my card for the Paper Players Polka Dot challenge this week. It was also to be a CAS card. I love CAS cards as they are quick and easy to create. I love black and white polka dots and with a pop of color from the rose (which is an old favorite of mine from Stampin' Up). The sentiment is from a great little Hero Arts set with perfect to the point sentiments for every occasion. I colored the rose with Copic markers and fussy cut it out and glued it on.

Sunday Stamps challenge #257

 

I made this card for the Sunday Stamps Challenge #257. I was to use black, light blue, pink, peach, and coral. as my colors. I used some Stampin' Up stamps for the tabletop and the flowers. I used a digital basket from Impression Obession, and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. I used some SU ink pads and some Distress Oxide inks and a versafine black ink pad for the black.

The flowers reminded me of hydrangeas so I stamped this hydrangea did in pinks and used the light blues in the background.  

Just Add Ink #543 - Sketch

 I loved seeing this sketch for the Just Add Ink challenge on Friday as it gave me a chance to use up some of my stashed scraps that I just cannot seem to throw away. I hit my black and white scraps to come up with this card.  You can find this sketch challenge here:

Here is my card: 

The rose stamp is from Inkadinkado, and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I stamped the images with versafine black ink, and colored the rose image with Copic markers.  

 

Sweet Stampin' Love

I used multi-media on this, I used a recycled magazine page for my hearts, stamped with versamark ink and then covered with gold embossing powder to heat emboss going for a faux cloisonne  look, the background was speckled using a Gina K texture stamp using red, pink, and purple distress oxide inks. For embellishment I added the red sticker hearts from Paper Studio. A quick and easy Valentine was my intent. 

I also got to use some of my old favorites stamps from years past that make wonderful Valentines no matter how long they have stored in my Valentine tub waiting for their turn to be inked. 

The Spot Challenge - Get Your Heart On!

 Trying to do a few challenges I found on Challenges for days. This one is for the Spot Challenge with the theme--Get Your Heart On.  You can find this challenge here:

 I used Rubber Tapestry peg stamps for the floral additions to my heart. I used a stamp from Unity for the background pattern, and the sentiment is from an old retired Stampin' Up set. I have been a stamper for over 20 years and have quite a collection of stamps. My heart, love, and Valentine stamps I have in a tub together to make them easier to find. Here's my card: 

The lacy trim is a die from Sizzix, the heart is a die from Spellbinder, and the tiny white flowers are punched with a mini punch from Creative Memories. I support lots of paper craft companies and I love putting them together in new ways even is some of these are old stamps and some are brand new. 

CCEE2026 Celebrating the bald eagle

Vicky is hosting this week and today we celebrate the Bald Eagle. So, Vicky is asking us to  make a card with a bird on it....extra credit if it is a Bald Eagle.  

Vicky's daughter-in-law loves Eagles.  She and her son go to our local lake to spot the Eagles high up in the poles.  The size of their nests is unreal and seeing one in real life is one of life's pleasures!

This is my favorite of my bald eagle stamps, which is an old Stampin' Up stamp that I still have. I love to use it on patriotic cards especially around the 4th of July. I decided to use red, white, and blue, and the stars and stripes in my design. That is our country's first flag representing the 13 original colonies that made up the USA at its origin behind the eagle's head. 

CCEE2023 - Roses

This is our first challenge for the month of June and the theme is roses. I used an old retired rose stamp from Stampin' Up, and not sure of the source for the sentiment. The sentiment is stamped with versamark and then embossed with white embossing powder.  I used design papers for the my background panels. AAA cards - CAS 165

The challenge for this card was to use only a third of the card. The twist was repeated image. I repeated the leaves (an old retired, but very favorited stamp of mine from Stampin' Up) down one side in two different shades of distress oxide inks.
