SOS473 - There's No Gnome Like You

I made this card for the Shopping our stash challenge "There's No Gnome Like You."

I have had these little garden gnomes (from Inkadinkado)  in my stamp stash for awhile and also this stencil from Stamplorations so thought it great for this challenge. This sentiment is from Gina Marie designs, I used distress oxide inks for the stenciling on the background. I am also entering this into the CAS695 challenge this week over on Splitcoaststampers as I used a lavender colored background rather than white for the background of this CAS card.

Can you handle the pressure? Challenge - butterflies

 

One of my favorite techniques is embossing. On this one that I did for the Can You handle the Pressure challenge this week, I inked over the embossing that I did on a piece of design paper. The pattern on the design paper is very subtle and after inking the raised parts of the embossing, it did not show that pattern much at all. This rose is from Hero Arts. I blended the color on it with distress oxide ink and a blending brush. I colored the leaves with colored pencils. I used copic markers to color the butterfly (not sure of source for that stamp). The sentiment is from Stamplorations.

I used the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge this week to make this card. I did some stenciling using baja breeze, Pacific pointe, and lovely lavender Stampin' Up ink, The stamping is done in Versafine Clair black, and I blended the lavender onto the flower with a blending brush. The leaves were stamped in the baja breeze ink and Pacific pointe ink. The sentiment is from Stamploration, the flower is from Stanpendous, the leaves are from Stampin' Up and the script is from American Crafts.

The Stamplorations June Stencil Challenge

 

With my last order from Stamplorations, I got this fabulous sentiment panel. I made my background with a stencil that is from Artplorations . I laid it in horizonal position to make this background and I brushed distress oxide inks (in warm colors to go with the word fire). I decided to color over the words with copic markers just to add a little more color to the card. I used my Gina Marie rectangle die as the frame for this sentiment in Crushed Curry. Then I  used crushed curry for the cardbase as well. 

It is always fun to see what Stamplorations has going every week on their blogsite as they have so many opportunities to take part in  and fun monthly prizes that are available for participation.

Fusion Challenge

I did this card for the Fusion Challenge this week and followed this week's sketch.  I embossed the background panel and then rubbed anitique linen distress oxide ink onto the front. The strip was designed paper and the other band is gold chrome. The stamp I used was from Stamplorations. I added a diecut flourished piece made of red cardstock and added a burlap bow.

Just Us Girls Challenge 579

I am very eclectic in buying my craft supplies. I used two stencils from two different companies the plaid is from Stamplorations and the snowflake is from Gina K. The image I used and sentiment is from Unity. I also like to make my Christmas cards during the entire year, so I decided to make this one a Christmas/winter card. The inks I used for my stenciling are distress oxide inks from Tim Holtz. The image and sentiment are stamped using versafine black ink. I colored the image with Copic markers. 

I had a grandmother who quilted and stenciled back in the 1950s and 1960s. Stencils were a little different then, and she used fabric instead of paper and paints instead of inks. I have been so fascinated using these new designs and methods as part of my paper crafting.

I was excited to see the challenge today for Just Us Girls to make use of more than one stencil. This particular pairing I had not tried before, But I like how it turned out.  Hope you do too.  You can find the details of the challenge here:

Stamplorations The Stencil Challenge for April

 I have enjoyed making use of stencils especially with Distress Oxide Inks, and this stencil is one I ordered from Stamplorations. For this card, it looks like a lattice in a garden that little girl is sitting in. I used Stampin' Up stamps for the pot and plant and the bricks. The sentiment is a stamp and die that was offered for free a few months ago on Stamplorations too. A definite perk in deed!  they have a monthly stencil challenge over at Stamplorations, so thought this would be a good entry and since I have used two of their products in making this card, I can enter an additional never endling contest they have there too.
