Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge #583

For the Atlantic Heart Sketch challenge, I made a stenciled background by combining about three stencils together. Two of the stencils are from A Colorful Life and the other one is from my older part of my stencil collection where I was not keeping track of where it came from. I used distress oxide inks  with with pink, blue and green inks. when the pink and blue blended together there was a shade of purple. I used green cardstock to mount the white oval, and I used a lilac cardstock for the card base. The stamp is from Sweet an Sassy and it is stamped with versdafine clair black ink. The dies are from Sizzix.  I used enamel dots for the flower centers.

Retro Rubber #233

Having some fun in my stamp room today, doubling up on stencil to create some new looks with them. I used  2 stencils from A Colorful Life, and a plaid stencil that I am not sure who the maker of it was. I doubled the all over leaf stencil with the plaid stencil. I used green distress oxide ink for blending it. Then with a darker green doxi I stenciled this smaller stencil of leaves,  making three bunches of the. I chose this delightful House Mouse stamp as the image. I stamped it with Versafine Claire black ink and colored it with colored pencils. I used a gray Copic marker to color the mouse's body. The sentiment is done with a Tim Holtz sentiment strip that come in a tablet with adhesive already on it. I love those so much because it is always in doing the sentiment I always mess up. This makes life so much easier and there are such cute sayings to pick from.
You can find the details for the Retro Challenge here:

I used the center vertical line for my elements of my card. My House Mouse stamp has been in my collection of stamps for quite some time.

Festive Friday challenge 162 - 4th of July

I was playing around making doubled up stenciling making use of red and blue distress oxide inks with blending brushes on the stencils. I found there to be a lot of ink left on the stencil that I did not want to waste, so I spritzed it with water and laid white paper on it to see how that would turn out. This bottom panel shows the results. Then I used the negative piece of a punched flower to stencil the flowers over it to give it a little more color. The top panel was done by doubling up two different stencils and then rubbing the ink over the combined stencils. I had found these great 4th of July layered stickers on sale a few weeks ago so used two of them on this card. I love making slimline cards and need to make them more often than I do. I don't usually make and send 4th of July cards, but I will put this one in the mail so that someone can find a little surprise in their mailbox.
