Cupcake Inspiration #583

I made this card for the Cupcake Inspiration challenge #583  found here:

I embossed the musical paper, and the other paper is from Unity. The stamps are from Impression Obsessions. All the stamping was done with versamark ink and embossed in gold embossing powder. I used a cross gemstone as the center of my star.

All Sorts Challenge - winter colors

I made this card for the All Sorts Challenge to use winter colors. I love blue and white as my winter colors and the gold is a perfect accent for it. The Jesus is wonderfull stamp is from Stampabilities. The Merry Christmas stamp is from Inkadinkado. I used versamark ink and added gold embossing powder to it. The background blue paper is from Unity. I framed it with gold chrome paper and used a blue cardstock for my base.

C.R.A.F.T. - challenge #700

I am busy getting my Christmas cards made and since I make each one an individual design, each one is different. So, I love taking part in these challenges that involve Christmas designs. I made this for the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge, which has a Christmas themed challenge for this week. I used some black cardstock for the cardbase, and some wonderful design paper from Paper Studio for the background layer. I used a nativity die for the image. This is one of my favorites in my collection. I often do my die cutting at different times when I have less time to be creative and have my die cuts ready as needed. That being the case, I don't always remember which company made that die. I think this is either a Sizzix or a Spelllbinder. I am too lazy to go hunt down the actual die today. You can find the details for this challenge here:

Try It on Tuesday - Traditional Christmas

I made this for the Try it on Tuesday challenge to make a traditional Christmas card. I used some wonderful traditional colors and some great design paper from Unity for my background paper on my black card base. The poinsettia is stamped and embossed in gold embossing powder. Then I colored it with alcohol ink markers. I am not sure of the source for this large poinsettia, but the sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy stamp.

Q is for quadrangle

This is a fun masculine birthday card I have made for my stash. I used some scraps from my scrap pile and then die cut 4 deer to go with the quadrangle theme for this Alphabet Challenge. The birthday sentiment is from a Spellbinder set.
You can find the details for this Alphabet Challenge here:

ABC Christmas challenge - w is for wreath

I did this wreath in not your traditional Christmas colors for the ABC Christmas challenge this week. W is for wreath. This stamp is from Sweet and Sassy stamps and so is the sentiment stamp. I colored the image with alcohol markers and stamped the image and sentiment in versafine clair black. The background card base is white and the background layer is design paper from Unity. You can find the details for this challenge here:

Doing these fun Christmas challenges help motivate me in my Christmas card making, so I appreciate finding so many online to take part in.

Sisterhood of crafters challenge - Sweater Weather

I did this fun card for the sisterhood of crafters challenge this week. The theme was "sweater weather".
I used a burgundy card base with design papers for the other layers. The stamp is from Unity as is the sentiment. I colored it with alcohol markers. We are lucky in my part of Texas if we even get sweater weather around Christmas, but I always enjoy when we do get to wear them around Christmas. Snow is really rare so cold is usually in the 40s.

Can You Handle the Pressure challenge - Christmas

I love embossing on design papers and decided to give it a try with this grid plaid. I mounted it onto a white card base. The die cut is from Spellbinder and done using pink glittery cardstock. The poinsettia is a Power Poppy digital that I sized and colored with copic markers. The sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  Embossing is one of my favorite techniques to use so I love taking part in the Can You Handle the Pressure challenges. This week the theme is Christmas and this worked right into my holiday making schedule. You can find the linky and details for the Can You Handle the Pressure here:

Jingle Belle Blog banner challenge

The challenge for the Jingle Belles this week was to use their blog banner as a source of inspiration. So I was inspired by the pink, the trees, and the sparkle on the trees. I stenciled a triangular pattern onto some printed design paper. I added this white silhouette of a tree and some forest animals as the main focus, and added pearls as snowflakes. I added some sparkly Nuvo to the tree to add a little glisten. I decided I would use pink ink on the sentiment as well. You can find the Jingle Belle challenge linky here:

I am seriously card making now for the rest of my Christmas cards. I try to do these challenges and others during to year to keep me with a pretty good stash to begin with but now it will be strictly Christmas cards that I will be creating.

Can You Handle the Pressure? embossing and Thanksgiving

I used a 3-D Spellbinder embossing folder on this blushing bride paper card base. The image is from aa Sweet and Sassy Digital stamp on white paper. I colored it with pastel Copic markers. The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Clair Black ink using a Stampendous sentiment.  I am planning mailing it to a friend for Thanksgiving!  I used it for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoaststampers on Sunday, and for the Can you Handle the Pressure challenge for their Thanksgiving theme.  You can check out the Can You Handle the Pressure challenge here:

C.R.A.F.T. challenge #697

My sweet little great great nephew turned 1 this week, so I made this card for him. I am entering it in the  C.R.A.F.T. challenge #697 to make a card for a child. The space suit is a stamp from Deep Red and the birthday sentiment is from Stampendous. I free handed the cutting of the big number one! He is the first of the newest generation of our family, so I refer to  him inside the card as Commander Beckett, the one in charge of the next generation.
You can find the details and link to the C.R.A.F.T. challenge here:

Crazy is our fame Stenciling is our game - Leaves

Over the past few years I have really enjoyed getting into stenciling and collecting them. I know the stencil I used for the brown leaves is from A colorful Life. I am not sure of the source of the other leaf stencil. I used fall colors from my collection of Distress Oxide inks. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things.  I followed the theme of the Crazy is our fame, Stenciling is our Game that can be found here:

Crafty Rocket Challenge - Winter time (No Christmas)

I used design papers on the background for this card. The silhouette die is from Impression Obsessions. The sentiment is from Unity. I really liked this gray, red, black and white color scheme. I made it a winter theme rather than Christmas for the Crafty Rocket challenge theme.  You can read the details of the challenge on their blog found here:

As You Like It - modern or traditional Christmas colors

I made this card in traditional Christmas colors for the As You Like It challenge this week. I love thee red and green of Christmas and wanted to use white with this as my neutral color. I live on the Texas Gulf coast, so I have only seen one white Christmas in my lifetime, but I do love seeing the snowy scenes on Christmas cards.  I used white to remind me of wintery snow, the red reminds me of the cardinals seen in the winter, and green reminds me of the evergreen trees of the season. I used design paper of red with white snowflakes on it for thee background panel of this card. I added little green holly leaves in addition to the die I used for the design. Silver gemstones I added for additional embellishments.  You can find the details and linky for this challenge here:
