Double Trouble Challenge 112

 

I am happy when I always have a little more time in my schedule for stamping because then I get to do the Double Trouble challenge. So this week, I achieved #1 - anything and everything. I also did #2 and repeated the butterflies on my card, and also did #3 to feature a critter on my card. So here are all the challenges this card represents:

This background was an embossed and inked embossing folder image that I did not use for an earlier project. The stamps I used were from a set from Impress Obsessions, and the vase was made from  punch and the plant from a die. The little sentiment is from a Tim Holtz Idea-o-logy pad. I used distess oxide ink on the embossing folder and black Varsafine Clare in ffor the stamping. 

Alphabet Challenge - D is for dies

Sometimes, I just like seeing how creative I can be with left over pieces left around my work table without dragging out more stuff or digging up more papers. Here is the result from just such a creative process. This basket is a digital that I had printed out a long time ago.I tore some design papers that were in my nearby scrap pile, and the card base was one that I had already pre-folded from the leftover half from a previous project. The digital is from Impression Obsessions, The flowers are from a Sizzix die, and the sentiment is from Stampdendous. The little white flowers are from a little flower punch from Creative Memories. Inspiration Station and The Bloom Challenge

Flowers are always inspiring for me. All their colors and variety of sizes and shapes. 

I love using scraps in this way to make wonderful backgrounds. This is a digital image from Power Poppy that I colored with copic markers to match some of the colors on the strips.  I was inspired by this challenge this week:

 My first card I made for the Blossom Challenge was not using the suggested flowers for the challenge, so I had a chance to make another one and hope there is not a limit of cards entered. 

Power Poppy' Blossom Challenge for May

 

Thanks to Holly Brown, I learned that Power Poppy has their challenges going again. I have had a little less time to keep up with all my stamping challenges lately as I have been helping my sister, Lynn, be caregivers to our aging parents since February. I printed out this fabulous digital from Power Poppy Pure Prairie Bouquet and the sentiment is from Peonies sentiment (a quote from George Elliston). I colored the image with Copic makers and then I lightly stenciled this pattern that reminded me of small stones in some of the blank spaces. I decided  to try a slimline card.  In Texas these are some of the flowers we see in May (although most might think that they are summer blossoms). This is because Texas weather generally skips spring like weather and heads onto summer right away!!

Jingle Bells - Masculine card

Making use of a new Sizzix die to my collection, I made this card for this week's Jingle Bell challenge to make a Masculine Christmas card.  The sentiment is an Impression Obsession die.

My card was made with a Colorful Life designs stencil and distress oxide inks. Then I stamped over that with an Impression Obsession background stamp. The main image is from Unity as are the sentiments.  I added the stick on glasses.

National Dance Like a Chicken Day was this week ~ so let's have some fun!

This day entertains with people flapping their arms and strutting chicken-like.

My chicken might be doing the chicken version of the bunny hop, but loved that no matter the dance this hick is in motion for sure. The stamps are from Artist Impressions. I used double sided design paper for this card.
