Tuesday Morning Sketch #704

 

I  used a Power Poppy digital image on this sketch, colored it with colored pencils. The sentiment was a Tim Holtz ideaology strip.

Jingle Belles challenge - Embossing

 It's getting to be that time of year where I like to get at least 3 or 4 Christmas cards done during the week to be ready for the Christmas season. That is why I love taking part in all the wonderful Christmas card challenges that go on all through out the year. This week I did this one for the Jingle Belles challenge to use embossing. I used a 3-D Sizzix embossing folder and a Power Poppy Christmas digital. The sentiment is a die cut. I used some glossy white paper to do my embossing. 

The image is colored with copic markers.. 

CCEE2039 - Mushrooms

 Hi Crafty Friends,

It's Frances here again this week, bringing us the last challenge for the month.

According to the Days of the Year Calendar, September is Mushroom Month. So for our challenge this week, include one or more mushroom either stamped or die cut on your creation.

I used a digital image from Power Poppy for my faabulous mushrooms that I colored with colored pencils and copic markers.

TicTacToe PP Challenge

 This card is for the Tic Tac Toe  Challenge on Power Poppy, I used the digital hydrangea  from Power Poppy, I used an old retired Stampin' Up stamp for the background I inked it with distress oxide ink (chipped sapphire), spritzed the stamp with water and smashed it onto my white paper. This has a brilliant blue cardstock card base. My tic tac toe items are blue, background stamp, and twine.  Check it out over HERE.

Creative Coffetti Challenge over on Power Poppy Blog

 

This is for the Creative Confetti challenge to create on colored cardstock. I printed out these Power Poppy digital poppies on red cardstock.   I colored all the leaves with white colored pencil to neutralized the bright color and then used green colored pencils to go over it. Then I added green copic marker to accent some of the veins and variation on the leaves. I used a brownish red copic marker to add a deeper red than the paper on the poppy petals that were in the shadows and folds, I lightly colored over the petals with white colored pencil to lighten the red to look like that was where the light was hitting on the petals. I used white gel pen for the center of the large poppy and a black copic marker for some of the dots in the center as well. I mounted this to red and white gingham design paper and used a black cardstock cardbase. I punched an oval out in black, added white gel pen stitches and added to the front of the card.  I have never tried printing off my digitals on colored cardstock before, but I really liked my results and I am sure I will do more of this in the future.

Make my Mondays - using digitals

I have so loved every Power Poppy digital image I have gotten from them. Coloring Marcella Hawley's love floral bouquets has be such a great way to enjoy my quarantined time this spring. I colored thes with colored pencils and then I got back over and do some highlighting with copic markers. I fussy cut this bouquet out and added the lacy border. It just looked so perfect with this rich purple cardstock base. What I love about digitals is that you can size them to be the perfect size you need for your card, and when you order them and pay for them, they can be directly downloaded to your computer instantly.
