Try it on Tuesday - Santa Claus is coming to Town

This is one of my favorite of my Santa stamps that came from Rubber Stampede that I have had for years. Today I used it on a stenciled background blended with distress oxide fired brick ink. I mounted the Santa on two different design papers for a mat. I punched bows with a Martha Stewart punch out of the red design paper print. The gold foil paper I cut using a die cut for the sentiment. (Not sure of the source of tat die.) I used alcohol marker to color Santa. The card base is red cardstock.

I am entering this card in this week's Try it on Tuesday challenge and you can find the details and link here: https://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com/2024/12/santa-claus-is-coming-to-town.html

AAA challenge 279

This is a simple CAS card made with white papers. The snowbank is torn white paper. The snowman is an old retired Stampin' Up stamp. I blended a little light gray distress oxide into on the the snow bank edge and the snow. I used blue distress oxide ink for the sky. The stamp was stamped with versafine clair black and colored with alcohol markers. The sentiment is from Sweet and Sassy stamps.

The Paper Players As the Deer challenge 718

I made this card for the Paper Players challenge for the Be a Deer. This dies are from Impression Obsession. The snow is a Impression Obsession stencil. I used torn white paper for the snow bank.

As You Like It - gold

I designed this card for the As You like it challenge this week, because I like gold. I think gold and white have such an elegant look as a color combo. This is a Spellbinder die set mounted on a white with gold dotted paper. The card base is kraft.

The details for the challenge can be found here:

AAA challenge #279

I made this CAS card for the AAA CAS Christmas card challenge this week. You can find the details for this challenge here:

On a white cardbase I used yellow distress oxide ink to stencil the background. Then I blended the ink on a smaller white square and added the small nativity silhouette die. I used my sister's die and I did not write down the source.

Allsorts challenge - Ribbon or twine 808

Finding these lovely  scraps left from some Christmas projects I had been making, I used them to design this card and wanted to use this linen ribbon I found in my stash. This was my latest bargain from Impression Obsessions--this deer snow globe. I am sure going to miss Impression Obsessions. Loved their dies and stamps. The tan bow I made with a Martha Stewart punch. I added some gemstones to the glittered snowflakes on the ribbon. The theme for this week's All Sorts challenge was ribbon or twine. You can find the details for that challenge here:

The ribbon is from Celebrate It from Michael's.
I am also using this card for the Christmas Throwdown November Stash challenge:

Jingle Belle challenge - Banner Holiday

I made this card for the F4A770 challenge on Splitcoaststampers making use of the theme "sweater weather" and for the Jingle Belle challenge for their banner holiday challenge theme. The snowman die is from Impression Obsession, the sentiment banner is from Spellbinder, and the stencil is from A Colorful Life. I used Gina K's texture paste. I added some baker's twine for the star banner the snowman is holding. I made the ear muffs out of enamel dots.

You can find the details for the Jingle Belle challenge here:

I should have read the details of the Jingle Belle challenge closer. It was the title- holiday banner that was my motivation for this card, as the snowman is hanging a festive banner to get things looking a little more festive for the holiday. So it is missing poinsettias and glitter, like Lauren's beautiful card.

Adding the Sparkle to Christmas

Since I am sending out over 100 cards this year, I work on my Christmas stash all year long. I seldom may any duplicates, they are all one of a kind originals. I had a great time with this new stencil I got from Gina K designs. I stenciled with aqua distressed ink on light blue cardstock, and the moved the stencil ever so slightly and used texture paste over the stencil on the second layer. I loved the dimentional look that resulted. Before the paste was dried, I added some very fine white glitter from Martha Stewart over the texture the paste layer made. I used this fabulous nativity die from Spellbinders for the focal point of the card. I am entering this card in two challenges this month that have sparkles as the themes. These two challenges are:
Crazy is our Fame and Stenciling our game and the Christmas Card Throwdown challenge.

Love using scraps to make cards, and thought this big pretty bow die from Greetery on this card.

ABC Christmas challenge - S and T

I used a plaid stencil of the background layer in green and then turned it a different direction to stencil over it in red. Then I stenciled this triangular patterned stencil from A colorful Life for my front panel background. I used distress oxide inks for the stenciling. I added the die cut silhouettes from Sizzix for the front. I mounted these two layers onto a black card base.
I made this card for the ABC Christmas challenge to use stenciling for S and traditional colors for T. You can find the details for this challenge here:

Inkspirational Challenge - headgear

What a fun theme this week at Inkspirational Challenge - headgear!! The sentiment is freehanded. You can find the details and link here for the challenge:

Can You Handle the Pressure? challenge - fall colors

It started with inking the indented inside portion of my Darice embossing folder and spritzing with water. Then I ran it through my embossing machine. That put color into the indented leaves. Then I rubbed some darker shades of ink colors over that. To cover the white portions of the background, I  activated some Mica copper powder with water and painted over the white. The I look some colored pencils to add more richness to the colors. I stamped the image with versafine clair black ink and colored it with copic alcohol markers. I used a metallic Sharpie for the buttons and accents in the image. The image is by Unity as is the sentiment. I mounted this on lilac paper. I love the contrast of thee oranges and purples on this.  You can find this challenge here:

Love These Pretty Papers Sept. challenge

Many times my motivation for card making is just looking at the pretty papers I have lying around left over from other card projects. This is one of those! All these design papers came from different pads and probably different companies, but they just seem to fit together. I used a Tim Holtz paper doll for my image, a stamp from Impression Obsessions as my sentiment, and a small leaf punch for my embellshment. An enamel dot made the center for a flower I punched out from another design paper scrap.
You can find the details for this fun challenge here:

House Mouse challenge #424

This is one of oldest House Mouse stamps and thought it would go so well with the scrap of paper option. Strips of paper remind me of fabric scraps, and if you give a mouse scraps of fabrics, they jump into a sewing mood. The image is stamped with versafine clair black ink and the image was colored with Copic markers.
The sentiment is a Tim Holtz sentiment strip that says "Be open to whatever comes next."

As You See it 331

This is for the As You See it challenge 331. This was a fast fruit card. As a former kindergarten teacher, I am a very fast colorer. I used an old retired stamp set from Flourishes (which is no longer in business) but the artist of this stamp is Marcella Hawley (of Power Poppy fame). I die cut the image and simly glued it to a design paper I found in my scrap box. Then I mounted it to a white cardstock base. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the design paper.

Festive Friday - harvest 167

Harvest is the theme of the Festive Friday challenge this week. I chose to use gingham, fruit, and twine for my three choices. The peaches are a wonderful stamp from the now defunct Flourishes, LTD. The designer is Marcella Hawley, one of my favorite of botanical art. I colored the peaches with alcohol ink pens and highlighted with white pencil. The gingham paper is from Paper Studio and the card base is kraft cardstock.

My Time to Craft 542

The challenge this week at My Time to Craft was to ad texture. I stamped a retired Stampin; Up background stamp onto design paper with versafine clair black ink, then I embossed the paper with a 3-D  embossing folder from Sizzix. I inked over the embossing with brown distress oxide ink. I die cut leaves from  guave cardstock and kraft. I punched flowers from gold chrome cardstock. The centers of the flowers are glued on jewels. The sentiment is from Pink Fresh. You can find the details and linky for this challenge here:
