Inkspirational Challenge #355

Using Christmas symbols from Christmas design papers was a fun and easy way to make a cute and fast holiday card. I loved layering paper on this cute sampler card and added little glittery holly stickers to add just one more cute symbol of Christmas.

FestiveFriday challenge #198

I used embossing folder, texture, and Christmas colors for my card. The embossing was done on black paper and the I sanded over it to see the light blue snowflakes. The sequins helped make the texture. There is red and green on the designed papers I used. The stamp is from Penny Black. Image colored with alcohol markers.

C.R.A.F.T. challenge - Christmas 769

I stamped directly onto the design paper and paper pieced the faces, hands, and baby blanket from an image I stamped on white. I used this die cut done in white just to accent the white portions if this card.  I colored parts of it with alcohol markers. The sentiment and image are from Unity Stamps and stamped in versafine clair black ink.

For the Krafty Chicks challenge this week, we were to make a Christmas card. This is a die I was gifted from a friend and wanted to use it for the first time. I used some red sequins from A Colorful Life as embellishment.  You can check out the details of the challenge here:

Using scraps and building a snowman

There seems to be many challenges lately using a winter or Christmas theme, and one of my favorite challenges that happens on a bi-monthly basis is over at Jingle Belles, whose criteria this week is to use left overs. Of course, there are always lovely paper scraps left over from various Christmas projects, but for this card I also went back through my Christmas stamps and found this one from an old Stampin' Up set from 1999. The snowflakes are from a die set from Creative Worship Stamps. I added an enamel dot for the centers of the snowflakes.
You can find the details for the Jingle Belles challenge here:

I am also using this card for the Cards 4 gals' challenge #263 theme of "Build a Snowman." It can be found here:

The sentiment is from Stampendous.  I made the background with scraps left over from my stash pile. These are fun backgrounds that I like to make ahead of time and lay aside for future cards.  I used the birthday theme with my plus one being a cake.

Unity Show and Tell Creating a Background challenge

I had a great time using many of my Unity stamps for this background. First I just started with some pink oxide distress ink direct from pad to paper swipes. Then I used a blending sponge to add some yellow distress oxide in. Then I added moss green distress ink pine needles all around the background. I found a small little group of stars on a stamp that was from a grab bag deal from Unity to added the stars for texturing with a espresso distress ink. On a scrap of design paper  I stamped the ornament which is one of my favorite Unity Christmas stamps and colored it with alcohol markers and also a gold mettalic marker. I colored some white pearl embellishments with a yellow alcohol marker and added them to the centers of  the flowers on the ornament. I found this silver swirly sticker that reminded me of those fancy ornament hangers they have out now so added it to the top of the ornament after I had fussy cut it and glued it onto the background. The sentiment is from one of my newest Unity stamps that is a set of great Christmas sentiments.  Go join in on the fun. This will last the entire month of November. Check it out!
