Using a Sizzix embossing folder as my background card base, I made this cute House Mouse Valentine to enter in for the HMFMC432 challenge this week. The big puff heart sticker says HUG. I added a few other heart stickers and some heart shaped rhinestones.

Just Us Girls #759

My latest stencil from A colorful Life just came in the mail today, and wanted to make a stenciled Valentine for this week's Just Us Girls' challenge. You can find the details here:

I used pink, red, and mahogany distressed oxide inks for the blending on the stenciling. I used the red and pink on my first stenciling, then I slightly moved the stencil off from the original placement to achieve this look and adding the mahogany ink. Then with the red ink I stamped the target for the center, with mahogany ink I stamped the cupid that I fussy cut and added with foam dimensionals. For the sentiment I used versafine clair black ink. This was quick and easy and I really loved the look. I mounted this on a dark red cardstock base. I added a few Valentine stickers just as extra embellishments. The cupid is a Stampabilities stamp, the target is a Craft Smart, and the sentiment is from Unity stamps.

Krafty Chicks - masculine #752

On Splitcoaststampers the ways to use challenge was fishing. On the Krafty Chicks blog the challenge was a masculine card, so this fit both criteria. This image is from Power Poppy that I colored with copic markers. The papers are from Echol Park and the sentiment is from Spellbinders.  You can find the details for the Krafty Chicks challenge here:

Jingle Belle - Candy Christmas

I always love when I can get some pretty Christmas card early ahead in the year. That is why I love taking part in the various Christmas challenges that happen during the year. One of my favorites is  Jingle Belle. I was inspired by the candy cane in the inspiration picture. I loved the idea of using it as a room decoration. I also love this digital from Power Poppy that I thought might make the main focus of my card.  You can check out the challenge here:

The challenges are always fun and it always wonderful to see all the creative entries that take part.
I colored my image with copic markers and colored pencils.  This is a 5 1/2 inch by 5  1/2 inch card.

Can you handle the pressure challenge? use 3-D embossing folders

This design paper has white paper under its red glossy finish, so I wanted to try sanding it with a sand paper block for the dimensions to show up more. Then I added some black ink and some gold paint. It didn't quite turned out like I imagined but I did like it. I reminded me of oriental types of art, I die cut the sentiment in gold foil cardstock. I mounted it on a black card base. I made this for the current Can You Handle the Pressure challenge to use a 3_D embossing folder. This one is from Sizzix,

Thank you notes and seamless spotlighting

I made this card to use in 3 challenges this week: On SCS Lydia left us a wonderful video to demonstrate using this seamless spotlighting technique for the Mixed Media challenge over on Splitccoaststampers.  I needed a few thank you cards for this time of the year, so I made it into a thank  you card and decided to link it to the Alphabet Challenge T is for thank you, and thee Sweet stampin' challenge this week whose theme was thank you cards. The link and details for each of these challenges can be found here:

My background stamp is from Impression Obsessions, and I used Versafine clair black ink, picket fence distress oxide ink for shading the bottom layer, and alcohol markers for the coloring part of the spotlighting technique. I used rust cardstock as the cardbase and as the paper for the die cut, which is from Sizzix.

Festive Friday 0176 - National Wedding Month

For the challenge this week on Festive Friday celebrating National Wedding Month, I decided to get out my very favorite wedding stamp in my collection. This stamp is from Unity stamps, and I love the wonderful details on this lovely silhouettte. The background was done by gluing some aluminum foil to light weight cardboard and then embossing with a Sizzix embossing folder. The stamping was done in versafine clair black ink. I colored a few of the flowers with an alcohol marker. The  required elements I used was white, metallic, and bride and groom.

Festive Friday Papercrafting Challenge #175

I don't think I have ever used this stamp set that I have had for some time. The challenge for the Festive Friday seemed like a perfect chance to use it. They are celebrating National Winnie the Pooh day and I chose to use: yellow, bees, and a friend sentiment. The image is from Stampendous and it is colored with alcohol markers.

I made this card for the Jingle Belle challenge using something old and something new. I used two new A Colorful Life design stencils for this card. I used my old oxide inks and my old die cut also. You can find the details for this challenge here:

I love these challenges that keep me working all year on my Christmas stash. The motivation of a challenge is most helpful in keeping it fun. Thanks, ladies for the 15 years you have been doing this. I have enjoyed taking part over the last couple of years.
